The inner fenders with core support were semi-gloss black. All the cars where painted gray under the hood and trunk lid. The core support is black so it appears when you look at the grill that it is dark behind it which gives it a depth look. I saw a 57-58 with the radiator core support painted body color and you could see paint between the grill bars and it took away the look of the grill from the car. -Chris
