'62-up trans. does NOT directly bolt to pre-'62 engines!

The crankshaft flanges on pre-'62 A & B V8's extend about 5/8" farther out of the engine than '62-up,and they are 8 bolt unthreaded vs. 6-bolt threaded for '62-up. The '62-up trans. bellhousings thus are 5/8" too short to bolt up to the engine if it has a pre-62 crankshaft in it! HOWEVER,the pushbutton 727's are perfect if you are using a '62-up engine,or have fit a '62-up crank into your pre-62 block.
