It's not as uncommon at the drag strips. One of the quickest NHRA region 6 cars was a Nova with a 440. I also saw a street driven Camaro with a 440 show up at the track. On the odd-combination list was an ancient cab-over 2-ton Ford with a 354 Hemi in front of a Ford 4-speed. My neighbor used it to haul hay across the state. He also had big later model Ford, but he said the Hemi-powered truck pulled the mountain passes far better than the Ford.
