Back in the dark ages, I mean the sixties, a friend had a 58 Plymouth with a 361 and long rams. No clearance problems that I can remember. Also, I believe the difference between the "long rams" and the "shorter long rams" refers to the length of the divider between the ram tubes, (30" vs 15") not the length of the ram tubes themselves.
