If the fan just quit running and the fuse is still good, then it is likely either the motor itself has died or the switch has died. Probably easiest to check the switch first. The "thuds" you hear under the dash are the vacuum operated air doors switching position for heat/defrost/AC/fresh/recirc. Those thuds have nothing to do with the blower itself.
