VERY good point. Even on the earlier first-gen Forwardlookers, this is a major issue! If you attempt to lift the body off, it could fold the top or warp the roof pillars. One way to strengthen is to use 2x6s and to literally build a wooden "spaceframe" inside the vehicle from firewall to behind the rear seat boxed section and bolt it in place. This can keep the body together when you lift it off if the rockers or floorboards are shot. This method might be lighter than leaving the doors on, and would give better access to the floor for repair.
