As an added comment on this subject (POR-15 Manifold Repair), be sure to locate the ends of the crack(s), and to drill a small hole through as a stress reliever. Otherwise, the crack can continue to propagate. This is NOT explained well by the POR-15 kit, but is extremely necessary as a way to keep the crack contained. Also, try and straight-edge your manifold to make sure it is not warped from the crack or overtorquing. If necessary, you will have to true the surface. Also check your head face, and if this is off, use a high-temperature exhaust gasket compound (Mr. Gasket) and make appropriate flange gaskets.
