If its cracked in the valley area (freeze?) then that is hidden under the manifold. If its not pushed out real bad, you might try cook cleaning it to get the grundge off, and then dye-penetrant the crack to see the extent. Find the ends, and then drill small holes to stress relieve the crack so it can't spread. Then you take a "windie" and "V" out the crack. On nickle-iron you can then either electric weld or high temp braze the crack, and polish it down if you need some visuals. And do any cleanup machining. Obviously if its really busted, this means a lot more work or just junking it. But the techniques are there to salvage it if you feel like it (now or later). As for the Powerflite, I had some info on how to install trans cooler onto the air-cooled unit. If you are interested, I can forward that info.
