I recently installed an old but working fuel sending unit, put in 10 gals. of gas and was pleased to see the gauge read 1/2. Without any use of the car (58 Dodge) the reading has moved to approx. 1/3. My guess is that the cork has become soaked and heavy. Does this seem likely? Is there a fuel-proof way to seal the cork float? Thanks in advance. RD
