You COULD get 475 HP and/or 550 lb.ft (gross HP on dyno) out of a 392 Hemi, but not with a smooth 800 rpm idle AND a 6500 rpm redline, one 750 cfm 4-bbl and Magnum exhaust manifolds instead of headers. A 475 HP naturally aspirated 392 wouldn't be too fun in rush hour traffic! That said, early Hemis are "cooler looking" underhood than any 440 will ever be >;^) , and they are the very soul of Mopar performance (why else the new 345 Hemi in Dodge Rams, << 52 YEARS!! >> after the original Hemi?!).
