Hardtops always present more rust and structural problems than sedans (4 door HT's are not really worse than 2 dr. HT's in most ways there), but the real problem facing the 4-dr. HT fan is the lower survival rate versus 2 dr. HT's (they weren't as 'cool' as 2 dr. HT's, so less were repaired and more were scrapped). In fact many restorable 4-dr HT's were junked while 2-dr. HT's in worse shape were restored. Needing any parts unique to 4-dr. HT's will give you an Excedrin headache, no doubt about that, Neil. All this is what makes surviving 4-dr. HT's really special to those of us who know all these difficulties...
