I have one of the small square intakes on my truck poly, it came to me with the intake on the engine and a AFB on top and it bolted to the WCFB studs without adapter, I now have 500Eld on there with a 1" spacer and it bolts fine to the same stud pattern. I just had to find a spacer with a set of dual holes for the studs. The intake holes were modified by taking a die grinder (least that what looks like was done) and opening the outside edge so that there is clearance for the butterflys on the AFB that was on there. Reboring the intake is a better option, but that is what was done with the intake I have. Although a 500cfm should work on your engine, I would go with a 600. I use a 600 on my poly 318 car engine (cammed a little differant than the truck) and it works just fine, took a 200 mile trip to the coast and back a few week ends ago and got 20+ mpg, came home with over a 1/4 tank of gas, of course my 65 Bel is a little lighter than most of the FL cars.......
