okay, gotcha, but how does shimming the backing plate move the bearing in or out?? I don't get that. the shims aren't actually changing the end play in the axleshafts, just seems that they move the backing plate in or out.(i.e.there would have to be a shim in back of the actual outer bearing to move the axle shafts). get what I mean?? or am I confusing everybody? i'm sure confused! but i do understand what you mean about the inner bearings, that part makes sense. the shims however stump me. Jason
