Regarding costs of the OBD-II Scan Tools, there are options, one of which I have included as a link (http://www.auterraweb.com/ The great thing about this particular device is that it uses a PALM, Sony or Handspring PDA, and a connector cable to the J1692 (OBD) underdash connector. All the rest is Software, which updates are posted regularly on the site. Cost? About $250.00 for the SW and cable/interface, plus you existing PDA. AND, it does flight recordings and upload to Excel on a PC vis the Hotsync operation.
