The '59 Desoto Fireflights used a 383 cubic inch, 4-bbl. carb engine with a code of "ML 383". This engine was shared with the '59 Dodge, but when installed in the Dodge, it was called the D500 option. The engine is a "B" block engine, not an "RB" block. Many parts will interchange between B and RB engines, but be careful--there are differences that make parts interchange a little difficult.
