Lee... Is your compressor a "V" type, or the inline York type? I have a 1955 DeSoto Service manual showing the York (inline) style, and in this application the AC compressor clutch has two belts. Both go to a double pulley generator (that acts as the tensioner) and around the crank pulleys. Looks from angle to be the rear pulleys. That would mean the water pump runs off the front pulley with its own tensioner. Does this setup sound even remotely like what you got from the Chrysler?
