You should be able to use a split size type U joint..... It will have both sizes, one of each on a cross, so take the old U joint with you and right down the size of the yoke you want it to fit too a parts store. Most 741 cases came in 2 yoke sizes, so it should be one of the two. The big advantage of using a post 65 8.75 axle is you get rid of the splind axles and drums and never have too use a puller again (and parts are eazy to get).
