I had a Jacobs system on my 77 Plymouth 440 for a while. I can tell you that it was good while it lasted. The performance and mileage improvements were remarkable. The trouble was that, after I'd say less than 50,000 miles, the system died. This was particularly unfortunate in that it happened in Tishomingo, Mississippi as I was on my way back from New Jersey to California. I was lucky in that: 1) I had all the OE parts in a box in the trunk, even though I did not have the schematics, and, 2) The folks in Tishomingo were especially accomodating in that they provided me a place to work on my car, chauffered me to a motel 10 miles away (there wasn't one in Tishomingo), and, when it was all said and done, wouldn't accept any payment for any of it. I managed to re-connect the OE electronic ignition and get back home after only an overnight delay. Anyway, the point is that I would now question the reliability/longevity of such systems. Just my thoughts. Mopar Randy
