My 58 (which sat garaged since '67) still had some original Goodyear spares and on the front. They were 2-1/4" as measured from the steel rim (8.0 x 14 size). Goodyear still produces these and lists them as 2-1/4" wide though when I measured them after mounting, they were 2-1/2" from the rim.
