According to the service manual, the adjustment is .008 for the intake and .018 for the exhaust, at normal running temperature. It doesn't give a cold setting. I would open the settings up a couple of thousandths before I cranked it up. It's better to have the valves close too soon, than to burn them with too small a setting.
