Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Don't know if I would treat mine this way if I had one, but you gotta see it, Sean Machado's Red 1960 Polara D-500 convert with him driving it doing a drift. I've never even tried this with my dual four barrel 1962 Chrysler 300. Sorry I forgot to paste the link in for the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LO-_2K1olE

Location: Parts Unknown | My black and gold 56 Adventurer was such a rust bucket it was going to need essentially the body tags lifted up and a new car driven under it !
As such, I was not so concerned with piling it up and was a little more *hairy* in the way I pushed that thing to see just how crazy it would drive. More than once the old girl took the big curve in front of the Ste. Michelle Winery at over 100 in a full drift on the way to the DeSoto Club meetings. Not bad for a car left in a swamp ! |

Location: Wichita, Kansas | Just yesterday I picked up the book '50 Years of Plymough, Dodge, & Chrysler Muscle' by Robert Genat, and Sean's red D-500 conv. is most definately in it doing a nice smokey burnout. There are several photos of the car in there, too, as well as a Matador coupe and a Polara coupe. Maybe that is where imopar380 saw the photo.
If I had that car, I too would light the hides up on occasion. I do in my D all the time, it is great to hear the motor roar!

That said, he did a nice handling job..... |

Sorry, I just don't see the point in ripping such a rare car like that. Enjoy it, sure - take it to 110-120 mph on a straighaway, open it up. But don't abuse it like that..... |

I guess the thinking may be that it is only a possesion in the end, and it can be repaired if damaged. When you think about it, we take just as much or more of a chance just driving in traffic. Ask Doctor Desoto. |

Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | Speaking of Dodge's and a certain submerged car that we've all invested a good deal of time, check this video out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB5x-24682s&mode=related&search=
Here's the video description:
"Technical divers were submerged to 200 feet in Lake Crescent,Wa searching for the remains of Russell and Blanch Warren, who had gone missing in 1929,when they discovered something entirely unexpected. In the cold, dark waters of the lake they came upon a 1950 Dodge Sedan, instead of the 1929 Chevrolet the Warren's had been driving. Upon researching the identity of the car's owner the divers discovered their were four young people from in the car when it careened into the lake ona cold January day in 1960." |

Location: Seville, OH | What's the big deal, he just spinning some doughnuts in a big lot. I do that sort of stuff all the time, although I admit that my cars aren't as rare as that one is. "Sideways drift" to me implies a high speed maneuver. I think the worst that could happen is that a tire blows and mangles the sheet metal a little. I have "before" pictures of that car and a whole lot of the sheet metal was already replaced. |

Location: Scottsdale, AZ | Very cool! Reminds me of my high school days! Got my first ticket doin' that in my '70 Cougar XR7 in the high school parking lot. The cop had to follow me out onto the drag to pull me over. I was sweatin' worried if he would see the "baggy" in my center console where I had stupidly put my registration! |

That 1950 Dodge in 200 feet of water survived better than the Tulsa Belvedere . |
