Here is how it works

You find and buy the car

I can assist with setting up shipping the car to me. I use a Bonded shipping broker that can give you a good price.

All parts are and material are at your expense

On a complete restoration prices start at $15,000 depending on the condition of the car but I can do one that is pretty ruff for that price.

I also do "small jobs" Example; Lets say you just want your car's body gotten ready for paint. Ship it to me. You will get back a car that only needs light surface prep andthe paint laid down.

At Overhome Speed and Custom Shop you will get top notch craftsmanship that is hard to find today. We specialize in doing the jobs “other” shops turn down. We provide quality at an affordable price.
Some of the services offered are
Complete Restoration
Fabrication
Panel repair/ single panel paint when possible
Complete Paint jobs
Color sanding/polishing
Buff polishing
Rust Repair
Electrical
Stereo instillation
Custom speaker enclosures
Pre-fab interior instillation (sewn interior is sub-contracted out)
Pre-fab custom and factory exhaust
Pre-fab tube chassis construction and instillation.
Suspension work
Brake restoration and disk brake kits installed.

And when the need arises to do something else we do it. We build everything from Stock restorations to ‘Ol Skool Kustoms, Traditional Hot Rods, Rat Rodz, Street/Strip cars all out Drag cars.
Because of my full time job as a Paramedic I don’t charge by the hour. I charge by the job. Some things I don’t do are jobs on daily drivers. I just don’t have time and there are plenty of shops around for that kind of work.
If you are interested drop us a line here or at my email porsche65@yahoo.com

How "small" do you go?

If I were to send you a wagon tailgate which needs some new metal patched in, would you tackle that?

Rusty tail gates can be a problem here in the dry Southwest. Sand and dirt collects in the bottom inside of the tailgate and retains moisture from washing and rain, causing it to rust from the inside out.

I have a couple of extra tailgates here and all but one have seem bubbling through. The one not rusted through is , of course, creased, though maybe the lower portion of the outer skin could be grafted to a rusted one.

I can do that, Do you have a picture of it? The only thing that might come as a shock is the steel price. I bought some 22ga for the wifes Hearse the otherday and it was $63 for some small stuff. But as far as the reapir goes I am sure I can do it. If you are not in a big hurry for it it would directly effect the labor price.

Yes, The 22ga is perfect for body repair because it welds so easy at a low temperture (little to no warping to work out) and it's easy to form.

I only expect it to grow. I feel that if I continue to offer down home friendly, and easy to work with service at prices that the average Joe can afford then maybe in a few years I'll have my own show on discovery.

I have always been a very driven person. When I set my mind on something I don't stop until it is what I set out for. My mind is made up that in a few years I will be a well known builder.

I have just added major sand blasting to jobs that can be performed. I also wanted to add that I just signed a contract with my local body supply to use only top quality Dupont/Nason, 3M, and Evercoat products. What this does is lower my costs wich in turn helps me keep the cost for the customer low.

hey donnie i really like your work and always liked your car . if you are using dupont paint ALWAYS use chroma base !! its a better line of paint finishes better and takes alot of work out of it!! ive used everything , dupont , ppg, marton senior, sickens , r&m , house of color . out of all of these i personally feel that dupont chroma base is by far the best paint ive ever sprayed . i like feather fill for body work talk about some high build surfacer that wont bust !! keep up the good work !!!!

58Donnie's Top Secret ForwardLook Garage is tucked away in the mountains of East Tennessee...
In his secluded compound, 58Donnie performs miracles of MoPar resurrection.

Finally, after years of sitting neglected in various "other" shops... my '59 Dodge was rescued this morning and is currently enroute to the Overhome Speed & Custom bunker.

Donnie is a true friend of the Forward Look... It's an honor to have my car in the hands of a skilled professional who shares a passion for these finned wonders.

Not to mention, Donnie is MUCH nicer, more affordable, and easier to get along with than Mopar Mel(onhead).

Thanks again, Donnie.

Thanks Nathan that was a cool. I got your message about the quarter skins and will get with you on those soon. Looking at her I should have her running enough to move around in a few days and I will keep you posted. Expect a thread to pop up in the General section called "A 59 Dodge reborn...Nathans car" In this thread we will follow along in the build of her to whatever extent you wish me to take her to.

Tat. I to have used the chromabase and LOVE it. I don't like the cost that much but if the customer wants it and they are paying for material then HELL YEA!

I also inform everyone that yet another addition has been added to what I can do for your car. I just got in the spraying equipment to put on factory type (but better quality) undercoating and spray in bedliners.

donnie i agree with you about the price on that chroma base , its really costly , i have saved money before using nason base and chroma clear but anymore i feel the extra cost is worth it because its so darn good and show cars take so much time and work to build . dont use nason sealer it is not catalized and the base is acidic and will cause the sealer to bust . i dont really like air dry primers or sealers as i have found they dont work nearly as well. i have found that while it may be cheaper to purchass cheaper paint and materials in the start , in 10 years when the nason is lifting or pealing the chroma will still hold tight! if you can get to know your paint guy next time you go to spray some of that transparant red base coat have him reduce the binder in the base when he is mixing it and add more pigment . it will save you alot of time !!!!

Some people have been asking about this, I don't charge the above 15K for all restorations. I understand that nobody wants to pay 15k to restore a 10K car. My prices are fair and you can check 'em with anybody. I will also try to beat anyones price.

Another update. My wife has just finished her interior for her Hearse and has said that she would be interested in doing Interior work on a limited bassis to start and moving to more advanced custom work as she gains more experience.

I will post some pictures of her work soon. So I guess I can add this as yet another service I can provide.

By interior work, are you thinking seat upholstery or door panels as well? What about headliners? If I had a seat where only the springs were salvageable, but had enough surviving fabric for a good pattern, could you work with that?

Thanks for the enthusiasm, though... I'm also very excited to see this project brought back from the dead.

I know he loves these cars... but I don't know if he loves them enough to breed with them.
Personally, I don't care what Donnie does with 'em in his spare time... so long as they are prettier when he's finished.

This is not finished. I just stretched it over the base to see how it would look. There's no padding under it it looks kind of loose but you get the picture.

Yea that 58 is a solid car but indeed a project.

The way it stands now as far as order of "first come first serve" ofcourse first to pay me makes a big difference

Finishing your car

Lee Day's
Christine Clone
49 ford truck
58 4D Belvedere

Nathans, 59 Dodge (will be in the mix here and there)
and at some point his 60 New Yorker

Your 2DHT if you get it

Gwen Cairns has been talking about me finishing her Christine clone

Belv58 (CCC member and I can't remember his name) it wanting me to do a resto on his body shell.

I also have a few locals that are willing to wait till I can hit there car every now and then.

I just added a 12' x 100' access road to my place in order to move cars to and from a new 20'x48' dry storage area.
In the coming weeks I will be building a 12' tall x 12' wide body lift to ease body off builds.
If all goes well this summer I sould have a new 5 bay shop and office.
I have been super busy,

The color sanding process. I am only just now getting to the first of 4 stages of polish so it's normal to still be able to see where the imperfectons were sanded out. These first few pictures are of a small sction of trunk I took though 3 steps of polish to show how it works.
the rest have only been through one stage

Mopar Mel says there aren't any people in teh CCC that are in business. I guess that means that you aren't getting paid for those cars, right?

Seriously, good work!! Good to see someone else in hardcore suffering as well.

(I guess that also means I inspect houses for free and John gives away parts)

Well I'm not free but I don't mind saying that I am a lot cheaper than most. I don't have all the high tech equipment yet but in tun I don't have a lot of overhead. I feel the Harris wouldn't mind me saying that I am doing his (the above 4D savoy) $3500 Paint and body material included. I am doing some mechanical stuff to it which is also a "charge by the job" deal. There is just no point in overcharging people for this.
In my opinion as time goes on, lower prices will only mean more customers. The more customers the more materials I buy the more I save which keeps the overhead down. As I grow and expand I am doing it with low overhead in mind on each step so I can stay low priced.

Hey, It worked for Sam Walton (founder of Wal-Mart)

And Thanks Brian.

Holy Crap!

John ("big m") is having a car done there, Donnie?

Just this past December, that very gold over beige '57 Bevy hardtop was snuggled right next to the '55 Fireflite Coronado in John's yard that he's holding for me. Small world :

Dry storage area I just added. I hope to have a new 5 bay shop this summer and thay will allow me to do two at once. It's tuff being a one man show. Thats why I don't charge by the hour.
Photobucket

Some people have asked me some of my prices so here is a general idea for about any forwarlook car. These are close estimates.

Basic overall paint job where the body/glass stays together runs around $4000
Frame on, body/glass apart around $8000
Frame off cosmetic with little mechanical restoration around $15,000
Frame off total restoration (stock) around $20,000
Custom work depend on what you want done.

Donnie, I just looked at this thread, and only have one thing to say.The work you show being done on the fender lip, dog leg/rocker panel looks just like the kind of body work I was taught back in the early '60s when I would hang out in bodyshops getting in the way of real "body men". It was "work the metal back to where it started, 'cause labor's cheaper and quicker than waiting for new parts"( in Taney County, Missouri). 'Course cars had more metal to 'em then, too. I can see why N. Manning is trusting his wheels to your tender lovin' care. Good on you, guy!

Thanks man that means a lot to hear. I learned from my uncle and grandfather who pretty much raised me out in there little country shop where they did "whatever" anything to building old school ( "OL Skool" ) hot rods to painting farmer browns truck or restoring one stock, or just doing a brake job on grand ma's grocery getter.
I don't have all the high tech stuff that most shops do but I do ok without 'em. Those prices I gave before are real loose because I try to work in the customers budget and I even work on payments because for me it's about the cars and what they mean to our history be it bone stock or a hot rod they all have there place.
It's comments like yours that remind me why I want to do this and I thank you for it.

I have had a few people ask me if I was taking in more cars right now.
I'll take in any car if you are willing to wait. By the car being here it will be quicker to start getting stuff done to it.
With the new shop I will be able to do more than one at a time.
So yes send 'em on.

As to that puller I guess I have been lucky because I havenever had a problem with it. Some are tuff to come off but I have always been ableto get'em.

Site preperation started yesterday on the new shop. With this new shop things will move a little faster but not a lot because I can't figure out how to make clone myself (sorry girls )

I will end up with a 28x48 block main shop which will house a lift plus 2 full service bays, office, washroom and storage for large tools like engine hoists.
I plan on modeling it after a 40's/50's era service station in the front.
I will still have my 24x24 which will once again be Christines home as well as parts storage for cars being built.
The new dry storage area which is 20x40 is still going to be in use.

As it stands now,

The Savoy is in the finishing stages of it's basic repaint.
Lee's Christine is going to start with some simple stuff as soon as the Savoy is out.
Nathan's Dodge will be worked in on those different days in order to get it in paint.
I have one customer who is still looking at a couple of different cars but I have him down for this summer as well as Harris's Christine, Lee's 49 truck and 58 4 door.
Somewhere in there will begin a 46 ford streetrod and then a 60 dodge is down for delivery to me the December both for US customers

Again, If you need me to do a car let me know and I will work it in somewhere.
With the new shop I should be able to have 3 going at once if need be.

She's not coming out to bad for just a basic repaint and some mechanical service.
I just finished up a few things and wanted to rinse the dust off her.

I just wanted to show my work in this thread.

Here is a few more. Still have to replace the windshield, exhaust from the surviving stock mufflers back, and a few other little bits here and there. I will also detail it some right before she heads home.
This car has given me a new outlook on all FL cars beyond my own Christine which is what got me into 'em in the first place.

As most of you know there was a fire in the old shop which will delay things a couple of months but have faith. The trusses just went on the new shop and things will be back up ad running in no time.

After the fire my build calender changed a little.
My shop should be back up and running within the next month. I have one Christine Clone, Total frame off build
59 Dodge, complete Frame on build
'58 4 door Belvedere, Driver build (if it doesn't get sold)
'49 Ford truck, Full frame off with a custom made wormy chestnut bed. These are in line.

I have people who have stated intentions to have me do work for them.

Christine Clone,
'60 Dodge,
'66 Ford truck,
'68 Chevelle.
I will say this, until I see a car at the shop or a cash deposit there place in line is yet to be decided. I feel that is only fair.

Some sheet metal work I did on a drag car. It's the floor/trans tunnel. It's not perfect. He was rushing me and I got some of the rivets out of line. I did it all in only about 8 hours.
I also re-worked the roll cage and fashond in a funny car style cage around the driver.

I'm glad that the '57 plymouth was an American car....if it appeared here nowadays, it would be burnt as immoral and you, Donnie, would be charged for offending religious feelings, and guiding people to the wrong way...Nadine looks like straight from the sales booklet.

Thanks for the detailed pics, I noticed for first time that there's a long crease running from fin to the rear doors. And I haven't yet had a photo of the Savoy emblem. You should now start renting this Savoy for photoshoots for books on Chrysler Corporation and Plymouth or about 1950's car styling

In light of the generosity shown to me by the members of this site for the next year I am offering flat rate prices (plus cost of parts or any subcontracted work such a re-chroming, prices listed below include all labor, paint and body material except sheet metal)

1. Basic overall paint job where the body/glass stays together was around $4000. Now a flat $3000
2. Frame on, body/glass apart was around $8000. Now a flat $6000
3. Frame off cosmetic with little mechanical restoration was around $15,000. Now a flat $12,000
4. Frame off total restoration (stock) was around $20,000. Now a flat $15,000
5. Custom work depend on what you want done.

Get in line now by setting up a delivery date to my shop. They will get worked on in order of delivery to me.

58 Plymouth, Christine build

78 Corvette Paint

I will be working on two at a time and will prbably hire in someone to do grunt work. Again, if we have made a deal prior as to when your car will get done that deal still stands and I'll crank her out as fast as I can.

Thanks to all of you for your faith in me and your support a well as your business.

Well my job with EMS is changing whitch will change my life at home some.
It seems that the powers at be have decided that all of us will begin station rotation as of tomorrow.
What this means is that this slow station that I have worked so hard to make it into I will only be in for one month at a time. Some of the stations have internet while some do not.
When I am at the more busy stations I will be up and awake for most of the 24 hour shift which means I may be a bit slower on keeping up here as well as with my business.

My plans are to try and work harder longer on "Plymouth Rock" so I can move more toward quiting the emergency service all together.
I just found this out and it is heart breaking for me. I have put alot of time into this place but I just can't deal with a busy station anymore. There are lot's of reason's why but my arthritic knee and the fact that I have just "Lost the fire" for the job are the main one's.

I just wanted to let everyone know.

Well the latest update is that I am now doing this full time, I have hired a webmaster for the main site, and I have plenty of work to do.

I have my wife on a 51 Cheby Right now that we are doing paint and custom bodywork only on, Nathan Mannings 60 Chrysler is in the finishing stages, Lee Day a customer from England is watching his car about to start going back together (over the hump thank God), Steve from Australia has his car in the early stages of disasembly, Steve (whitedawg) has his 60 Dodge here for paint and a custom gauge cluster and it will be starting as soon as the 51 is out of the shop, and Harris (h-bomb) has just bought a 58 Plymouth 2DHT that he wants made into a Christine as a present to himself for his 40'th B-day.

I also still have another 58 Plymouth, 59 Dodge, 66 Mustang, and some oher stuff that I can't think of right now on the back burner.

All is well in the land of the Rock. The only bad note is that any deal made after January 1 2009 will have a slight price increse due to rising cost of materials.

Some of the things I have going on for myself and partner is I have sort of half azz repainted my car after the fire and he just bought a 70 Plymouth Satellite 440 street/strip car which will be an ongoing project.

In responce to recent questions about when I can take in more cars:

Send 'em on. I am working 6-7 days a week right now but if your car is here and I see a spot of time where I could do something to it while another is in a holding patern waiting on a part or something then I jump on it.

In the shop right now is a 51 chebby that will be out in 3-4 days. A 60 Dodge that is about to move into the sheet metal work stage but from there won't take long at all. A 60 Chrysler that should go to paint in less than a couple of weeks. A Christine build that is about to go back on the frame.

Sitting outside the shop right now,

3 Christine Builds

49 Ford F-1 stock resto

59 Dodge paint and such

70 Plymouth

66 Mustang

and 1 58 Plymouth that needs some nit picky stuff so she can just move around on her own.

Some projects of my own that I am going to build to sell are, ( I will also build these under contract to your specs)

46 Dodge truck (Ol' Skool Rod)

66 Belvedere (my goal here is for it to be sold at Barret-Jackson as a resto mod)

65 Barracuda (AWB Dragster)

Anybody need a Job?

The latest one out the door.

Just between us Mopar guy's I don't mind if this is the last Chevy at Plymouth Rock. I was contracted to do paint and custom body work only. I wanted to do more custom stuff to it but the owner wouldn't let me. Things like Chop the top, shave the gas door, weld and fill the fenderskirts, and put in a DeSoto grill.
I don't mean to sound negative I'm just not a chevy guy and it's hard for me to not want to change it to the point that it isn't a chevy anymore.
I also didn't pick the colors.
My wife ended up doing 90% of the bodywork all I did was the custom sheetmetal and spray the 06 Ford Mustang Screeming Yellow and GM fleet white in base clear.

Nice job, D...

I guess this means we're getting closer and closer to gettin' the '60 back on the road.
(I'm getting anxious to slip back behind the wheel... I can't wait until she's finished!)

Keep up the good work... but slow down enough to take time for yourself once in a while!

Nathan we have been on your now for a couple of days. She is in there with Dave's car and Lee's which is about to go back on the frame.

I should mention that the reason the hood isn't lined up is because the hood is going on with some sort of modern gas charged hinge that his son bought.

Donnie...

How 'bout a status report on the Plymouth Rock lineup?
I know my '60 Chrysler is currently underway... along with Dave Wolf's '60 Dodge and Lee's Christine.

Aside from my '59 Dodge, what else have you got waiting in the wings?
(Keep in mind, my buddy Ben is still planning to have you do the remaining body & paint work on his '66 F-100.)

My recent schedule

I may be a little hard to contact for the next few days. I have come into an opportunity where I can get enough shelf’s and counter tops to go around most of the shops back and side walls.
A local parts store went out of business a couple of years ago and left most all of the peg board tool racks and all of there counters. Over 100 feet worth as well as some stainless steel tables and a deep 3 section stainless steel sink from when the building housed a small grocery store.
I get all of this stuff for free if I can get it out by the end of the week. I plan on doing that but it’s gonna take every spare minute with getting the stuff out and getting it back to the shop moving everything I have in the shop to get it all in place.
This will solve my storage problems in many ways so I can’t miss out.
If you need to contact me just drop me a pm as I may not have time to check all the posts.
If I am already seeing to something for you I will get it taken care of ASAP.

Thank you for your patience.

As for cars (I am just pulling this out of my tired brain and there is no order to the list I'm about to give)

4 Christine Clones to build or being built
‘60 Chrysler New Yorker (Paint, Waxoyl and mech)
‘60 Dodge Pioneer (paint, custom interior fitting and Waxoyl)
‘59 Dodge (all it needs is everything)
‘69 Ford LTD Convertible (paint)
‘62 Chrysler Convertible (big block car) (total restoration)
‘65 Falcon (paint, and general restoration)
‘57 Chrysler (paint touch up)
‘55 Plymouth (Ol Skool Rod if he buy's it)
'47 Chevy pickup. (finish the electrical, exhaust, gauges, and touch up some paint)
‘70 Plymouth Satellite (Dyno’d at 617 HP soon to have a Kiesler 5 speed and a Top Secret-make a splash paint scheme, total custom build) This one will make Plymouth rock famous......Don't worry I won't forget the little people and my autograph will always be free

Projects of my own,
‘46 Dodge A Gas dragster pickup (Nickname, Nobody's Fault but Mine)
‘65 Barracuda Altered wheelbase dragster (yea one of the dangerous looking ones with a Ed Roth flake paint job yet to be named)
‘66 Plymouth “resto mod” that will be going to Barret Jackson (total custom build on a tube chassis as a road car)

Projects of my wife’s,
‘62 Pontiac Hearse ( I have to finish this)
‘72 Ford Station Wagon (two shades of blue pearl over white on an all shaved body)

I am always open to take on more so just contact me with your needs. I hired a new guy that is fresh out of school so he will be learning alot of thigs he wasn't taught there.
For now till he proves something to me he is just a helper.

Well it looks like to the chevy's are trying to work there way into a Mopar shop. I don't blame 'em. This one for the most part is getting finished by me.
It was a build that started 7 or 8 years ago and is a super nice truck. There is some places that have been damaged that I will be reapinting and it's up to The Rock the make it all come together with a new electrical harness, gauges, interior, battery location, sterio, exhaust, hooking up and tuning the 3 duce set up, and the final fit and finish to turn it into a turnkey truck.

Isn't this the one that came as a referral from another overseas customer?

For everyone needing to contact me I had a power surge that fried a bunch of stuff in my computer. After a new harddrive I found that it must have done more because right now i'm using the on screen keyboard one click at a time and it'd driving me mad.
My new computer will be here today and I will get caught up with everyone just as soon as it's set up.

The Rock is going to be in a rather large local clubs calander. I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to sort through all of the pics I have of the calander and some of the work I have been doing but I hope to have time to get it all sorted out in the coming week.

Anyway here are some of the extra pics taken on the day of the shoot for the calander that didn't make the cut or we were just fooling about with taking pics.

Thanks, I really like to hear from others who work on the cars. I got that sign from a vendor at a Mopar show. I was told but have no information to back this up that this was the 1957 "Mopar Girl". I will say that she's a numbered lic. Mopar reproduction product. number 1375 of 2500.
I paid a $100 for her. Don't know if she was really worth it or not but I liked her and it was my birthday present to me.

I know everything I do seems slow but with the help of my wife I have it worked out to optimize time.

As you all may know I have a 3 bay shop that now has a wall in one for paint/body.
The other 2 are for the rotisserie and the lift.

Over the past year I have been able to teach her enough to let her do somethings on her own but most of it requires that I do it myself so here is what you can expect to see in the coming months.

I am focused on getting Lee's (Doobster) car finished without any loss of detail.
Next is getting Steve's (ozzysteve) car back on the frame and into paint.
Those two are happening at the same time.
Once that is done and space is freed up then "ROB" (DVJohnny's) car will start getting taken apart.
Geoff (billywhizz) his car will also come apart for the rotisserie at pretty much the same time because it will not need to be on it for long at all since al his metal work is finished.

That's phase one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phase 2
What I call the "in and out" easy cars (easy by comparison to hand building a car )
I have Lee's '49 Ford that is a frame off but being a truck makes it more easy because it doen't eat space in the shop so much. That will start in the spring. So I'm not really thinking of it as part of a "phase"

Phase 2 has Nathan's '59 Dodge that is a trick paint job and maybe some light custom work.

Next is a '57 Desoto Firedome that is simply body and paint nothing else.

After that is a '66 Ford truck that is also Body and paint.

A '40 Buick that is a simple re-paint (car is already a show winner)

Brian's '46 Chevy truck that will get a great deal more done to it.

There are other projects that will fall in the mix somewhere like Eric's '58 and so on it just isn't decided yet to what extent I'll be doing them.
Also car's like Mike's '57 Chrysler that needs some touch up paint done.

My point of posting all of this is because I don't want any of my customers thinking that another car has "jumped the line" if they see pics of it getting done it's just that to optimize productivity (and keep the bill's paid) I have to move around on the projects as time and space allows.
Ofcourse other cars will come in while all of this is going on some will be the quicker paint jobs and other will be frame off's but for now it's just me and the wife. If I start hiring more people the the overhead goes up and so does the cost of the work.
I want to prevent that so people can can say "I know know a place where you get MORE than you pay for."

Donnie,

When you enter phase II let me know and I'll drive her across I-40... I'm in no hurry, car-related events which I attend go right up to Christmas...

For those of you who do like seeing my flooding of advertisement (inside joke ) here is a non FL car that will show an example of one of our more economic ways to refresh an already finished car.
This '40 Buick Eight was finished somewhere around 15 years ago and done with a single stage paint which looks nice but has lost some of it's luster as well as it has some orange peel and a few dings, scratches and some minor rust bubbles in a lower door.
For the most part this is a "scuff it and spray it" car but with a small bit of work to be done. In the pictures below you can see some of the spots that have to be fixed.

I recently made a deal with a fellow that subcontracts out at $40.00 per hour and is a master at any mechanical aspect you can throw at him. He also can repair or restore Air conditioning systems. Some jobs he would do here in my shop while some would need to be transported to his for a small fee.

It seems that I have now also moved into the world of H-D. I know this isn’t Forward Look related but this thread has always been to showcase the many different types of work done here at “The Rock” and because I feel like this place was born from this forum I want to share what I do here.

I just took in this ‘91 FXRP (former cop bike) for a customer in Australia. It’s a good base to start with. Right now the direction is for it to become a custom painted and tricked out bike that will be good for around town riding as well as long distance trips.
It will get striped to the frame the build will go from there starting with a tricked out Dodge Viper metallic blue and silver chassis to match the tins and the paint job on his ‘46 Chevy truck I’m also finishing up.

This is my first bike for a customer as the owner understands that many parts of it will be a learning curve for me.

Here is a list of parts ideas. (all of these should be at the shop this week)

Front tire (for 21" wire wheel)

Rear tire.

These exhaust pipes have removable baffles so you can be quiet or loud.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=440-392

This is stock replacement for the dashboard on the bike since it has some bad chrome. There are many other tanks and dashes that can be used.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=730-533

I don’t know if the owner want's to keep a speedometer and a tachometer but if he does there are lot’s to chose from out there. I like these because they are small and keep up with the clean look.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=5600076

Here is the carburetor set up from S&S

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=402-004

The side covers are pretty ruff and I saw these going through the catalog. Also the nut kit for them. Need 2 pair of nuts.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7000085

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7400442

These are neck covers ad they dress up the frame between the tank and forks.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=702-165

21" front wheel

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=200-994

80 spoke rear wire wheel (I think the offset look of 40 spoke on the front and 80 on the rear gives the bike a more slim look at the front than would have with 40/40's)

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=201-454

Mirrors with signal lights

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=750-448

Easy way to get yor handle bars up more

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=5000495

Controls *NOTE* you will need to call them and let them know that this is for a dual disk ‘91 model FXRP (Police)

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=500-448

Very nice grips that do what they say they do by saving your thoracic spine. (these things are great)

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=501-978

Oil cooler can be the life of the engine.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=740013

Front fender. I think this one would get it the look we are after. If not then pick anything that will fit a 4 ½ inch fork and a 21" wheel.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=710-463

Rear fender. I think this one will get it the look we are after.

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=7110170

Shocks. I think these will look nice and they are ½ inch shorter which will make a big difference

http://www.jpcycles.com/search/productdetail?sku=701-483

New wiring harness to get rid of all of the “cop bike” wiring

Donnie, what color is that blue??? It looks the same as what my old S-10 was painted, which was a 99 Honda Civic color with added blue and purple pearl to the base coat. I love it!

That's a nice bike.

Are you gonna convert it to right hand drive?

Sorry, Donnie, couldn't resist.

Come on by and join the Plymouth Rock Forum and see what’s going on more in depth than I have time to post here.
This is not part of any club and will be having more tech sections added as time allows.
We are a very laid back group and tend to lean more to “The good old days” of posting. There are many sections dedicated to things other than what I do.

Have a new metal worker for the summer. She is my best friends daughter, an art major at ETSU looking for experience with car building.
In these pics I had just given her the basics of leading and this was the first time doing it for her...Girls got talent.

All done except the electrical and that will get finished this week. The owner will no doubt add some chrome here and there and the seat may get changed but for the most part it's finished. I will have in the ballpark of about 125 hours in it.

The bike looks awesome Donnie. But I gotta ask....Why didn't the owner want blue fenders too?

The bike is painted to match his '46 Chevy pickup that I'm doing right now. It has a blue main body with silver fenders.

I see! That's cool. I might be coming into an Evo powered Electra Glide Classic soon that needs a re-shoot. It's blue too.... The color you painted this bike would look great on that old Glide.

Some of what the we have been doing at 'The Rock" As some of you may have read in my other thread "Some changes for the rock" The cars that are here or going to be here in a few months are the last one's that we are doing in mass like this. Once these are done we will do one or two a year and a Harley or Indian every now and then.
The reason I am doing this is because I was offered a job as an EMS director that I just couldn't pass up. I also want to do some projects of my own.

That old Chevy looks great Donnie! Don't know of anyone looking for a 51 Chevy truck by chance? A friend has one to get rid of. Needs restored.

I don't man but it shouldn't be hard to move. This is what I hope to be the last GM product I ever do. I just can't stomach working on them. Everywwhere you turn there is a some design flaw that is nothing but agrivation.
This truck came out nice I think. We here at The Rock put in a full custom interior with things like a tilt column, 7 speakers, amp, full console, custom seats, custom smoothed dash, and custom headline and door panels as well as full Dynamat insulation.
Other things that were done here, Body repainted or cut and buffed, 2 1/2" stainless Maganflow exhaust, Panless wiring harness, Holley Commander 950 EFI, plus countless other little custom touches.

The bike was stripped to the frame, painted to match the truck and has custom touches all over it. It's a long way from the "cop" bike this old FXRP started out as.

Just to set the record straight so the rumors don't get out of hand... Yes, My wife and I who were also business partners have signed divorce papers. Because of this the "Plymouth Rock" business name will be no more but I will be able to work in the shop till the projects here are delt with. I won't be taking in any more projects.
The customers I have now I am working with to either finish the project, get the car to another builder, or back to them. That's the whole story.....sorry it wasn't anymore interesting.

In the future I plan on leaning (very lightly) to building a bike every now and then. other then that I'm busy with my Paramedic job, I'm working 15+ twelve hour shifts a month for a service that averages 1000+ calls a month split up with 5 full time trucks.
When I'm not there I am working in the shop, this means I'm not the most easy person to get hold of, Text messages are the best way to get me so if you would like my number please PM me
