o.k. fellas, mike in k.c. here. i want anybody that can get to this yard, GET to this yard...quik!!!!! i went today to decide once and for all if i was going to pull the last 58 plymouth 2dht home from this yard. well, bad news. he is crushin' out some time between a month from now and may of this year. here is a list of what he has from the chrysler corporation 55-61. cars are rough but have many valuable glass, trim, mechanical parts left.
1-58 plymouth 2dht
1-57 plymouth 2dht
2-59 dodge wagons 4d
1-59 dodge crown royal 4d sedan complete big block car, black
1-57 chrysler windsor 4dht complete yellow?
1-57 plymouth wagon 4d
1-57 dodge 2dht coronet
1-58 dodge 2dht coronet
1-59 plymouth belvedere 2d sedan
1-59 plymouth 4d sedan savoy
1-59 plymouth 4d wagon
1-61 dodge 4dht wagon
1-61 plymouth 4d sedan wagon
1-55 dodge 2d cub sedan black
1-55 dodge 4d sedan coronet
2 or 3 56 chrysler 4d sedans
there are other year chrysler, dodge and plymouth cars all over this yard. big blocks from the 60s to the 70s.
also a few classic dodge trucks including a non-power wagon 39-47 4 wheel drive truck
48-50 dodge pilot house 1/2 ton
note: the owner will sell parts, whole cars or what ever right up until the time he inks the deal with the scrap guy.
example: today i bought the right and left headliner panels from the 58 plymouth 2dht, and the 3 speed pushbutton mechanical assembly from one of the 57 dodges, all for $15.00. the owner will not ship any items and is reluctant to field phone calls. he is open thursday, friday noon to 4p.m. and saturday, 8a.m.-4p.m with lunch from 12-1p.m. you pull the part, or his son and other helper will assist. super nice guy and very reasonable. to get there; this yard is 15 miles north of excelsior springs missouri. from kansas city, mo. go north on I-35 to the 116 exit, then east(right) on 116 for about a mile and an half, then south(right) on 69 for approx. 1 mile. the yard is on the left side of the road. jim van is the owner. tell him a jackass named mike taylor told you about the yard. bring your tools and your mudders. this place is a swamp this time of year. i hate to see this place go under, but jim is gettin' older and he got a crazy offer on the yard and the dude he is selling it to is a junk man!! this stuff is goin' to the shredder! i am going to pull some stuff off over the next few weeks, but would rather not pull a bunch of stuff only to have folks back out of buyin' it. get there soon and make a day out of it. this place is great, not many yard like this around. you can do a search here in the boards under my username ilikedodge to find pics i posted a couple of years ago of the cars available. mike in k.c.

Mike, I've been all over the website and have not been able to find the photos you mentioned. I'm curious about the two '55 Dodges you listed. I'm in the midst of building a '55 CRL 2 door hrdtp, and of course, I need some parts. It'd almost be worth a weekend trip to KC if I knew what I'm needing is there. I need too many things to list. But I don't know if the parts from the club sedan/2door would fit. I need the two aluminum door rocker sill plates, for starters. There are some other body trim parts that I have, but not in good shape and will be costly to reproduce if necessary. I'm asking if those two cars were/are in the photos you mentioned, and that I can't find on the site. thanks, Walt.

here are a few pics. note, i have removed most of the trim from the 57 belvedere. there is also a 64 dodge 880 4dht wagon, complete for sale here. 4dht wagons are very rare. for you lincoln guys, there are several kennedy era 4 suicide door cars. complete as well. most cars are what he can get for them at scrap value;$350.00-$400.00.

Can you send pics of any of 60-61 Wagons. I am in need of a fuel tank. If the 61 Wagon is decent, I will take the whole thing. I am in Oklahoma, and can make the trip easily.

the 58 4dht is the car i was reffering to as the 57. sorry, i had a brain fart there. and it is a 4 door lower line windsor. it has i think a 354 poly and is equipped with a/c. the quarters are not perfect, but in about 1-2 months they'll but in bite size chunks!!!!!!

the 61 wagon is rough but mostly complete as far as i can tell. i am going back up saturday and will get pics of all of the cars mentioned. these cars are packed in really tight, so getting good close up shots is kinda hard. there bushes and trees everywhere. note; i believe that the bodies on 61 plymouth wagons were utilized on other year doge/plymouths right up thru 64. there is a very straight 4dht dodge 880 wagon big block pushbutton car with a heck of a nice body. i'll do some more checking on body styles. mike in k.c.

i will check on parts availablility for those that have p.m.'d me and those within this thread. i am working on a package deal with the owner to get the 59 dodge crown royal 4door sedan, one of the 59 dodge wagons, and possibly the 64 880 4dht wagon or the 58 windsor 4dht. i have a co-worker that will let me store these cars as long as i need to. there will be more pics saturday. as for the 61 plymouth wagon itself, it is very rough and from my memory mostly a parts car although fairly complete. will check on all requests, promise! mike in k.c.

the 61 plymouth wadon bodies are the exact same as the 64 dodge 880 wagons. the trim and tailights are different but the sheetmetal and glass are the same. i say go for the 64 dodge body and sell the front end. this is a hardtop!!!!

Of course the only car that I'm interested in is the '58 Windsor and the pictures is the size of a post-it note. Is it a hardtop or sedan? Are the scripts still there? What about the grill emblem?

I'd love to get the complete car actually but I don't know how I would get it to Detroit economically. Any thoughts?

I know this is would make most people's stomaches turn on here but are there any shoebox ford business coupes ('49, '50, '51)?

I keep getting ideas to turn that Windsor into a 4-door convertible.... I could tell the bowtie boys that it was factory and they'd probably believe me.

just got back from the "honey hole"! i will address the last three post first. the 58 chrysler is $700.00 and he will not part it out. i have not checked the floor pans to see the extent of the rot. it is the best car at least from the outside and is very complete. the dodge wagons are very rough indeed. the tailgate on the all white dodge is toast! i pulled the tailight housings and bezels from it, they are pitted but good otherwise. darn those tailight assemblies are heavy for no bigger than they are! the pans are gone in both wagons. both have 3 speed torqueflites with the pusher assembly in place. dashes are o.k. side rear glass is o.k. as for the 64 dodge, it is not horrible, but along the drip trough areas along the top of the tailgate it is rusted thru. not a good sign. the passenger windows are down, also not a good sign. the floors? not sure how bad they are. externally i say it is worth saving for either a resto the way it is, or to re-body a 61 plymmie. it uses the dash from 61-64 dodges. big block 3 speed torqueflite. not sure if it is 361 or 383. i took my camera and after 2 pics it the batteries peteed out! the 2 pics do not add or take away from the car i was photographing. it was the 59 4 door sedan. which is what i consider the 2nd best buy in the yard. the floors, inner, and outer rockers, and trunk pans are toast. it is pretty much good for the doors, motor/tranny, dash and other interior, glass, and trim items. i had a good morning overall and feel that most of the cars left are for parts mainly. the 61 plymouth gas tank is too hard to get to for what little gain it would provide. these cars are on their belly for the most part. the 58 chrysler is sitting correctly it appears. it has been moved to a different area than seen in the pics. i'm not sure if i can even pull the 58 plymouth 2dht home. i gave it a very close look and it is bad!!!!!!! i think i would be better off cutting the firewall/roof and c-pillars off as a whole and scrap the rest. i did pull the 59 dodge tailight housings and bezels, some stainless trim from a 61 dodge wagon, and a back glass from the 58 plymouth 2dht. oh, and got a bunch of the steel headliner bow retainers. any way, that was my day. mike in k.c.

Thanks in Advance,

Hey Mike,

A nice tinted windshield from a '57-'59 sedan/wagon would work for me.

kenny, i am not educated enough in the glass area to know one piece of glass from another. there are plenty of sedan windshields left still. if you can point me in the right direction as far as what number, or marks to look for regarding glass, i would pull as much of it as you need. i pulled a 58 plymouth ht back glass just this weekend. let me know kenny, mike in k.c.

saturday is best. this yard is very muddy most of the time. to pull a car it will require the use of their CAT. they will only pull a car out when it is safe to do so and not get the CAT stuck. make sure there has been many days of dry weather before making the trip up. a series of frozen days will work also, but the car must be loosened up first. these cars are dug in pretty good. so get there, loosen it up and pull it out. their saturday hours are 8a.m.-noon, then an hour for dinner, then 1p.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. they are open half days thursdays and fridays.

If the glass reads "Solex", it's definitely tinted. This windshield looks tinted.

Thanks.

Thanks. Just want a tinted one. I'd hate to have you pull a clear one and then find out I don't want it!

I will be buying a new tinted windshield from Colin for my driver '59, but I would like a spare. Lots of construction trucks in this town kicking up rocks.

just to recap. i am buying the 59 4 door dodge, the owner wants to sell the 58 chrysler whole and not part out. the 57 plymouth wagon has been crushed/shredded. the 57 chrysler listed in the original post, also crushed, the 58 plymouth 2dht is also going to be mine, the 59 plymouth 4 door sedan front and back glass are in my basement to be used for the plaza, both dodge wagons are there and very rough, not salvageable in my opinion, only parts. there are no show pieces in this yard. i have had request for mirrors, trim and other parts and most if not all the chrome stuff is pitted so i did not pull a lot of stuff for fear of getting stuck with it. the owner is kinda gettin' up there in age and is not interestd in fielding calls with shipping requests and price quotes. he is a very nice fella, but is just an owner selling parts to people that come in asking for them. he is hinting that he is having a change of heart about having his field of dreams crushed. he has had this yard since 61 and he does look at these cars for more than their scrap value. he primarily crushes 70-up cars, but if a car of any year has been picked clean to the bone he will crush it. he also fears he will die if he does not have something to do in his spare time. if he crushes out, he says he'll have nothing to do. i hope he changes his mind, but even so, i'm gettin' the 59 custom and the last 58 blevy . thanks, mike in k.c.

I am getting the 880 wagon. I changed my screen name, it is now 60 Suburban instead of 66 Comet.

Hi, Mike:

Did you happen to get any pictures of the 57 Dodge or the 58 Dodge?

no, i got 2 pics in of the 59 sedan, and the batteries turded out. i looked at the 2 dodge hardtops a little closer though and determined they are both 58 dodge 2dht cars, and not one of each. they are terribly rough the 58 dodge? forget about it, a few years back i put a bumper jack under the rear bumper drivers side to pull a wheel off to get my old 57 plymuoth home and the whole back of the quarter gave out. i mean it went up and car stayed put!!! it is way far gone. there is some glass, dash, engine/tranny and a few odds and ends, but not a resto candidate. i am gonna try and get away agin this weekend and get a few more pics and maybe a few more items, so hang tight fellas, mike in k.c.

Mike,
I have a 1959 Dodge wagon.
I am looking for the 2nd seat back latch bracket, it's a small bracket, passenger side, that secure the 2nd seat so it won't fold. I can send you a scan taken from my part book if you need it.
Also looking for both black rear door arm rest. I pretty sure wagon and 4 dr. sedan share the same parts.
Can you check those for me and pm me with a quote?
Thanks.

Mike in KC - is that $700 1958 Chrysler Windsor still there? I'm thinkin about goin' west for the whole thang! When you're out there, would ya mind peekin' under and lookin' for rust on the frame? Rust in the rockers/quarters? Also, are the aftermarket A/C parts there under the hood?
Thanks a million, Chopper John

o.k., for the guys interested in the 58 windsor. the owner wants $700.00 for it. also, the 64 dodge 880 4dht wagon is $500.00. on a personal note: i bought the black 59 dodge crl 4 door sedan, and the brown 58 plymouth 2dht belvedere both seen in the pics. everything else is up for grabs. i think i am going to be in the yard friday afternoon with mike and bart, so i will get a better look the cars mentioned above for the interested parties. later fellas, mike in k.c.

Mike- if you think about it , you might notice if there are any 64 Dodges in there. eventually I will need some clutch linkage from any manual 62-67 B body. And if you talk to the old boy, ask if he has a complete rear axle assembly with positraction for 1965 and later B body..Thanks..........................MO

Mo, The '66-'70 linkage is different from the '62-'65 linkage.....Early and late B-Body.....
Got two posi chunks, one is the "742" carrier the other is the "489" ...The 742 is 3.91 posi and the 489 is 3.23 posi.....

o.k. guys, heres the scoop. i did not pull any of the requested parts. the 59 dodge parts requested most of which were not accessable because of the cars position next to the 59s. some of the doors would not open at all and some would not open far enough to get in. there were some parts such as mirrors, hood ornaments, but they were so pitted i did not want to be stuck with them if they were not wanted. the glass on the 59s was accessable, but it looked like i would have spent too much time working them out. i did however, find a nice 59 plymouth "toilet seat" deck lid ornament/pan. i don't know what the heck they're called. the 58 chrysler is very solid indeed. so solid i put a little money down on it for him to hold it for me. i have seen that car many-a-times, and usually nothing more than a quik glance, but after giving it a good once-over, i put a deposit on it on it to hold it till i figure what i want to do with it. and the 59 dodge custom royal is mine! i bought it finally today. hope to bring it home next weekend. the 64 dodge 880 has no rearend, no passenger spindle, and no drivers front brake drum. if thought initially that it was in pretty good shape, but after today i gotta say one would be rolling the dice on it. not sure how the under side looks. it's still a $500.00 car though for sure. i will p.m. those that i was able to pull parts for a week or so ago. the toilet seat is for sale or trade, whatcha got?????? also, the side glass on the wagons are good, but they will have to be pulled later when i had more time. keep in mind i needed to get back home to meet up with mike and barts which i did. they will be posting pics and vids later. here is one i took before they left and a few of the 58 dodge 2dht cars. thanks, mike in k.c.

Hi, Mike:

Thanks for the pictures of the Dodges. Two 1958 Coronet Lancer coupes with the upgrade interiors. I see a hundred little parts I would take off before they get crushed, but none are valuable enough to ship anywhere. Or to spend anybody's time but my own pulling them off! The windshield looks pretty good - that may be worth saving if it is as good as it looks in the pictures. If you don't mind, please send the full size photos to me by e-mail. I'd like to make sure there is nothing there I just can't do without!

Yours,
Mike - oh, just click on my name and it gives you my e-mail address.
Thanks again!

it's the original motor for sure, poly for sure not hemi. still has the a/c intact, the breather assembly. the only thing missing from what i know about 58 windsors, are the little badges that attach to the tiny insert within the trim spears on the rear quarters and the hubcaps. the car may be sold to a fellow member here. i backed out of buying this one myself. you know, other things(cars) come up! mike in k.c.

terry, the only plymmie 61 is a plain jane wagon and it is pretty toasty! not much left. i think there is a passenger headlight bezel but i can't swear to it. i think i checked on it for another member previously. i never took any pics of the 61. you're right, getting in and out of some of these cars and getting in a position to pull stuff from under a dash is a bit of a nightmare. i look at this yard literally like a kid in a candy store or a toys-r-us! funt times for sure!

hey thanks mike good on you for thinking about it. I'm abit out of town anyway if you have heard of New Zealand thats where I'm at. I got this 61 coupe out of ohio it sort of got picked over on the way out, hence the clock missing out of the dash, but hey s**t does happen. I've got a bad fitting drivers door, everything looks great except for the top hinge being just a little bent and / or just simply the wrong one as well. anydoors laying around with a hinge to suit my coupe? I'm not familiar with parts that interchange.
Also does the coupe have different wind screen stainless compared to the 4 door sedan, maybe because the roof lines are completely different perhapes?
Over here we use to have those graveyards for old chev's an ford's but they are also gone, I'd love to come over if someone had a tour circuit organised....global graveyards.com I bags the IT rights straight away. haha
cheers,
Terry

terry, i am a relative rookie when it comes to these cars, but there are plenty of 61 guys that can detail your query way better than i. but my experience with windshields has been that hardtop and sedan windshields are different thoughout the range of forwardlook vehicles. check with 61plymy, or john fowlie(bigm). they will know for sure.

Hey Folks, I have committed to buying the '58 Windsor that KC Mike saw at this yard - the deposit is in the hands of the owner. I have a '58 Saratoga four-door hardtop that will benefit from many parts from this car - and my buddy tnlowrider in Tennessee will use even more parts from this car to get his '58 DeSoto Firesweep back on the road!

Well, the Windsor is going to excellent use - I'm using the body from the firewall back and interior parts for my cut-up '58 Saratoga four-door hardtop. My buddy is using all the front sheetmetal and the entire chassis to replace a rotten one on his '58 DeSoto Firesweep. There will be VERY little left over, and it will be breathing life into two cars. Even my buddy said that he is satisified that we will consuming the parts on this car nearly 100%.

Otherwise, his & my car would be further away from a usable vehicle, and neither is being parted out. The Windsor is weeks away from being crushed, since the yard is already sold, and vehicles are disappearing completely by the day. Overall, a better end to this car than being crushed, melted down and remade into a cheap Chinese tool set . . .

There's nothing wrong with that then, two is better than one any day!

A bit surprised that it's mentioned there's a Poly in it, I thought they weren't used in Chryslers. I know it's not the Poly as in 301/313/318 but a 'converted Hemi', but all the same, this is the first time I've seen one mentioned in relation to a Chrysler.

It's a different Poly - what was in the '55 thru '58 lower-line Chryslers was a cheaper version of the 331 & 354 Hemi - the heads only required one rocker shaft per head, and were lighter in weight and simpler to cast, and therefore, cheaper.
It was a totally different engine than the 318 Poly, and a whisker away from the Hemi. The 354 Poly in my '57 Saratoga is rated at 295 HP with a stick four barrel carburetor, so it was no slouch.

I'll be at this yard tomorrow, 4/18/08 to pick up the 1958 Chrysler Windsor, and pulling it home to Florida with a rental truck - I'll probably have a few minutes to look around at the last of the cars before they're crushed. I'll get pics of what's left while I'm there.

Thanks, ilikedodge Mike! The father & son yanked the Windsor up in the air, I backed my rented trailer underneath it, and they lowered it down onto it - then they pushed the Windsor the rest of the way onto the trailer. I wish I could have had a 2-3 car trailer - there were a few other cars I would have taken if I had the room!

I got home safely with the Windsor in tow on a trailer behind the Penske truck I rented in Platte City, MO, just 10 minutes from the airport. It was 1528 miles one-way back to Florida, at an average speed of 61 MPH, all at 8-9 MPG of unleaded gas, priced from $3.33/gallon to $3.59/gallon. The lady at the Penske truck rental agency was really helpful. I had made all my reservations online (www.penske.com) in advance - there's no other way - and everything went very smoothly. Even the Southwest one-way flight from West Palm Beach, FL, to Kansas City, MO at $89 was trouble-free.

The owner of the yard told me that the deal to sell the yard has not yet gone through, and he's been on the side of the potential buyer to keep the yard as an operating wrecking yard, instead of his grandfathered zoning expiring once the yard is sold - and the yard has plenty of good parts cars left. If the potential new owner does not get to keep the zoning unchanged if the sale goes through, the cars will likely be crushed. The owner is ready to retire after operating the yard for 47 years.

I took over 70 pictures of the cars in the yard, and will post a bunch when I get the chance. And you were 100% in your PM to me, Mike - the Windsor definitely was one of the better cars in the yard! In some of the low-lying areas, it was quite obvious that the cars had been submerged, but most were old wrecks and cars that had only seen the end of their useful life. And, yes! I had my tall sh*tkickers on walking through the yard, so my feet remained dry - my boots nearly were pulled off a few times from the suction of the muddy grounds. Did the owner realize that there were multiple creeks and streams running right through the center of his property when he started this yard? I don't know.

Sorry, alwndup, I didn't get your message before I left. I'll look to see if I have any pics of that Dodge - I recall a finned post-1960 finned wagon that was missing its front-end sheetmetal - that may have been the wagon that you're asking about.

Like I said, I'll get some pics posted ASAP.

i'm glad things went o.k. for you john. i still need to figure out what i want to do with the 59 dodge. it's still there waiting on me/weather to get our/its act together. i hope they don't crush out, it just kills me to know that my days may be numbered to go thru their at my leasure. i'm may go after a the 71 chrysler up by the street instead of the 59. it still has its complete drivetrain and is in decent condition. i'm also trying to work out a deal with jim the owner to pay him a little each month to save a few more cars. i think he'll work with me. how is the condition of the 58 compared to what you thought of it before you actually saw it? hope it helps your project like you hoped, mike in k.c.

Mike, I think you have a little more time - the old man is giving hell to the zoning board, and his goal is to allow the potential new owner to keep the yard operating as it is. The Dodge didn't look bad - but I had my eye on that power swivel seat in the 60 Imperial - but the yard owner said the whole car had been sold to Imperial Services in North(?)Dakota. He had already sold them five other Imperials.

I am happy with the Windsor - I always expect a car that I have purchased sight-unseen to be significantly worse than what is shown in pictures, and I adjust my buying price accordingly. I think this car was worth the $700 paid - some parts were worse than expected (rear quarters) and other parts better than expected (roof, front fenders, rocker panels). I am still taking inventory of its condition, but don't expect any surprises. The frame is solid, probably much more solid than many of the cars there. I'd love to pick up a few dozen of his cars & open my own yard!

There are more pics I took, mostly non-Mopar, but many 50s & 60s cars.

I just had to include that partly-submerged 1959 Buick sedan, and the unfortunate Alfa Spider with the 6" diameter tree growing through its floorboards and between the steering wheel and dashboard.

And yes, that is lichen growing on my car, along with some moss. It came off in the self-service car wash.

Alwndup, I looked through all my pictures and did not find a 1961 Dodge, unless it's that car I included first in the above group - I think that's a 1960.

the wagon in the first pic is a 61. i grabbed the side rear stainless from it a few weeks back. i see mike on the cat helpin' you out. that 57 2dht belvy has been sold to a dude that bought my old rusty 57 for about 2 years now. he paid for it and jim had mike move it to where it is now and he never showed up to pick it up. that car was crunched by the cat several years ago when they moved it to where it used to sit before they dragged it to where it sits now. i grabbed a bunch of parts off it a few years back too. that place is a blast! i go when ever i can. i hope it stays for ever, but i'm scared it is gonna get crushed out. i do hope jim gets something worked out to where it stays a reasonably inexpensive place to buy cars and parts. thanks for posting more pics, mike in k.c.

This place is so darn far away from me - any news as to what the status of this yard is? There were definitely more Mopars besides the Windsor I pulled home that could be saved from this yard.

john, the deal to sell the cars and the yard fell thru however, jim decided to bring in a crusher and started crushing soon after the deal fell thru with the would be buyer. he still has some cars as to what and how many are left remains to be seen. when i last spoke with him he said he had crushed about 150 cars! i know the 59 dodge i bought is still there, and he promised to hold onto the last 58 plymouth 2dht for me until i could come and get it which looks to be in a week or two. i kinda think he made the would be buyer too good of a deal and decided to cash it out on his own terms. sad, but i guess he just decided it was time. he told me that business was way down any way. i got to give him a call to touch base with him and i'll report back with a mopar head count, mike in k.c.

That's a darn shame. There were a slew of really interesting vehicles in that yard, Mopar & non-Mopar. Many usable parts are going to be lost with the crushing of these cars. I guess it's a fantasy to think that a yard like that will go on forever without change. It's too bad that a few more can't be saved -maybe a few more members here will look over the pics in this thread and try to get over there.

Thing is, every time I hear of a junkyard crushing all the antique cars, I also hear off in the distance, "Cha-ching!", "Cha-Ching!"...

All they are doing is making the last remaining parts in peoples private stashes worth more and more.....

This is the one I have of the 59 Dodge wagon . . .

along with a very unhappy looking Edsel . . .

The Imperial was to be removed later in the week, finding a new home in Minnesota, I think.

And a '55 DeSoto with tinted glass awaits the crusher.

not 100%, but is sure has dwindled down a bit. i think he said ha had crushed about 150 cars. for now, he has stopped. the crusher that was on site to do the dirty work was gone. there are still many cars, but not near as many forwardlookers. i would say around 6-10 forwardlookers left. i didn't take a complete inventory. what is left is pretty ragged, but they are still our beloved forwardlooker autos. mike in k.c.

Mike - does Van's still have some of those F#rd truck cabs around? How about that poor Alfa Romeo with the tree growin' up through it? There must have been a half-dozen flathead F#rd engines laying around there. Have you been able to pick up the car you wanted originally?

The '58 Chrysler Windsor I picked up has yielded a boatload of good parts - The A/C setup is going on my '58 coupe, lots of 4-door-hardtop-only parts are set aside for my '57 Saratoga chopped-off-top hardtop, and the rest is going north to Tennessee in two weekends to help get TNLOWRIDER's '58 DeSoto Firesweep back on the road - the frame, decklid and front fenders on his car are toast, and the Windsor does offer decent parts in those areas.

I did look over the Windsor thoroughly after I got it home. With the extensive floor rust that crept up to the dashboard and around to the inner rocker panels, and the fact water was rushing out somewhere from the rear of the engine when I tried filling the radiator, and all four wheels were frozen solid, I expect that its fate would not have ever been to be restored itself. I will see if I can post some pics of what it looks like once I get it on the trailer to bring it to tnlowrider. The pics will be shocking! The car is quite disassembled, but has given up its existence to eventually make three other cars roadworthy.

Torben - I'll have some extra parts from the "Secret Honey Hole" 1958 Windsor left over from all my disassembly work. Anything you can think of that you may need?

For example, most of the exterior stainless trim is dented, but there are a few pieces that are usable.

Mike,
Here's a scan of the part that I need.
It is the bracket on the left rectangle holding the 2nd seat passenger side. Hope you can help.
Does any 59 Dodge has rear passenger black arm rests?
Thanks.

It is ok Catman, you where the fellow Sierra man

Because i'm the one with the Sierra, I have a 1959 Dodge Sierra Spectator 9 Passenger stw., which lead me to this, the bracket and retainer you show on the picture, ore rather on the insertet picture are not for the 2 seat, it's to lean the back of the 3 seat against in a Spectator.

I also have a 1958 Chrysler Windsor 2 door hardtop, with the rare spring option "Dartline" moulding, but unfortunaly this car need a total restauration, an it need a lot of parts.

DUH !!!!

Cool,
What I am looking for is the bracket and retainer to hold the second seat in place.
I would love to see pictures of your car. I will post picture of my car pretty soon because I am moving the car to my friend's dry storage, I will document the event and will post it here.

Torben- since I wrote in this thread last time, I brought what was left of the 1958 Windsor four-door hardtop up to my friend Tim (TNLOWRIDER) in Tennessee. I know he has removed the perfect grille and some other parts he is willing to sell. You will need to contact him at this point. I removed only the parts I will need for my cars, which were many parts. I made a list below.

When I brought him the Windsor, it had only a few pieces of stainless and chrome on the body (but the complete front bumper is on it) no rear bumper, no tail lights, no interior, no front or rear windscreen glass, no gauges or radio, no radiator and no air cleaner assembly.

Tim will be using, as a minimum, the chassis, front fenders, trunk lid, dashboard assembly, glove box door and front inner fenders for his 1958 DeSoto Firesweep Sportsman hardtop coupe.

Torben - I sent a message to Tim about your interest in his Windsor parts.
I did keep the rear bumper and tail lights for my car. They were both only in fair condition, and require rechroming.

Adriana - check out Page 3 of this thread - there's the '61 Plymouth wagon - I took that pic, and it's the only one I have - it was pretty rough, not much left.

If he doesn't respond here, I'd PM "ilikedodge", the fella who started this thread to find out about current status of this yard.

UPDATE APRIL 2009! the 61 plymouth wagon is gone. it was crushed last year when scrap was up. what is left are the two 59 dodge wagons, a 57 plymouth 2dht, 55 chrysler, 59 plymouth 2 door sedan, 2 55 dodges, 1 2 door sedan and 1 4 door sedan, 1 57 dodge 2dht. i believe that is it of the forwardlook era. the 55 desoto body might be there, but the grille and the engine are long gone.

Hey Mike! Long time no chat. Did you find a home for your '59 Dodge yet? It's a pretty darn good buy.

Since I was out there to pick up the '58 Windsor 4-door hardtop last summer, I bought a '57 Chrysler Windsor Town & Country wagon. The '58 Windsor, which was always a parts car, is now evenly split up between Florida and Tennessee, and will be put to excellent use. Some of the '58 Windsor parts are going on my wagon, some on my '58 2-dr hardtop, and the rest are going on tnlowrider's '58 DeSoto Firesweep hardtop in Tennessee.

QUESTION about the WAGONS at Van's Auto - do ANY of the '57-'58'-'59 wagons have their perforated cardboard headliner in place still? And have the plastic retaining strips too? From the couple wagons that are left, I MIGHT be able to make up a single good headliner. Mine is completely missing the section aft of the panel that has the dome light, and the other panels are dry and flaky, sort of like my jokes.

I'm also looking for Solex glass for the four doors (wagon rear door glass is different from the sedans) - each door glass I have is either cracked or delaminating. There are other bits I could use, too, but I just don't have room for a whole parts car

Everybody's buddy Mopar Mel will make up a new perforated cardboard headliner for me if I send him mine as a pattern (no price given) and provide the retainer strips ($800 for the set). I think I could possibly get some decent usable used ones for less than that. Or fly out there, remove the parts, and I fly/drive back home.

I left a message this afternoon for Jim at Van's Auto, not heard back from them yet.

Thanks.

Mike - I spoke to Van's - of course I didn't expect them to know the condition of the headliner. He vaguely recalls that they are toast - at least the the plastic retaining strips - but he wasn't 100% certain.
I did find out that Van's has no problem selling me the door glass - IF I buy the whole door, each of the four doors. I can understand that - doors has FAR less value if the glass is gone.

SOooooo, if you ARE in the yard, THANKS IN ADVANCE for lookin the glass really closely to see if it is delaminating around the edges like the glass I have already. if it ISN'T delaminating, I'l probably get out there again. Wish he had a wagon roof rack, too - but I looked thru my pics i took of the yard and saw none. Same regarding the interior cargo/rear wheelwell area side panels, another item I'd like to have.

Chat with ya later.

Just so y'all know, Mike did get a chance to look over the couple of Mopar wagons at Van's - and all the headliner parts were no good - sort of what I expected, but I was hopeful!

Did this yard end up in the crusher yet? Any idea if there are any 58-60 ramblers?

Hi Jessica - I see your post is kind of old, but when I was there, I don't recall seeing any Ramblers. If there were any, they would be in the pics in this post.
The pics I posted here are pretty representative of what was in the yard in April 2008. Mike "ilikedodge' said above in April 2009. about 150 cars were crushed.
