'56 Plymouth Belvedere_______Quarter Panels
late '56-'57 Dodge truck_______Front fenders
late '56-'59 Dodge truck_______Horn button
'56 Desoto ??________________Glove Box
'60 Plymouth ??_____________Quarter Panels

'56 Plymouth Belvedere______________________Quarter Panels

'60 Plymouth Savoy__________________________Rear Quarters
'61 Dodge Dart All___________________________Front Fenders
Keys
I believe that a lot of these emblems are the same part. For instance, I think all the quarter panel, fins and front fender emblems are the same '56 to '60 with exception to the Dodge Truck version which is similar, except with a grainy texture. I believe the Fury seat emblems are the same as the DeSoto glove box emblems too. Can anyone verify this? |

Location: So. Cal | It seems true that the forward look emblem of the '50s turned 90 degrees upward and became the Plymouth symbol of the '60's. Pointing upward no longer denotes forward looking and creates more of a rocket theme. So, as arbitrary as it may seem, I am only going to include symbols that point forward, not up. With that in mind, here is the updated list.

And if we count something as silly as the keys (not really part of the car), shouldnt we count EVERY SINGLE operator's manual that has an FL logo printed on or in it? Or maybe even every part that has it stamped on it? LOL! |

But those things have a flaw that is annoying. When you try to rotate it to get it off, the aluminum tabs do not hold tight enough to the plastic, causing the aluminum top to rotate without turning the plastic base. I epoxied the tabs into a groove I cut into the plastic this time in hopes that it will work better the next time I need to get it off.

Location: So. Cal | The flookerang symbol is alive and well in 1961. I found it where I didn't expect it - etched onto the glass. Usually there is a PPG Herculite symbol there, even on my '60 Chrysler. But my '61 Lancer has a flookerang there instead. It's also on the alternator & jiffy jet bag of course. All of these flookerangs, when installed on the car, end up pointing backwards.

Another odd thing was my '62 Plymouth had the Forward Look etched in the glass like the one shown on the glass above. And it was on ALL the glass including the windshield.
Forward Look floor mats.

| My 57 Belvedere has FL Emblems on the aluminum sill plate covers. Might be a Canada thing, I've noticed my car and other Canadian 57s have some inconsistencies with the US ones. Namely, mine has a "Plymouth" script on the back, and the Plymouth logo in the middle of the "wings" on the trunk is silver instead of gold. |

Some of them are really cool looking designs. Here's a selection of some of the various Plymouth horn buttons from 1963-1967.

The emblems that Rocco posted and the ones found on the grill of Plymouths were said to be the wake left by the prow of a ship.

Just to clarify the 1961 Dodge line-up.
The Phoenix was the only one with the front fender emblems.
Seneca and Pioneer had a small one on the glove box.
The emblems are bit confusing on the 1961 Dodge models.
Agree that the large front fender FL emblems were standard on the Phoenix but, the front emblem is also referenced in the master parts book for both the RD3 and RD4 model lines which includes both Pioneer & Phoenix models. Believe that the emblem could be added as an "option" to a Pioneer model.
Also to clarify here's some additional info regarding the the emblems used on the glovebox for the 1961 Dodge line.
The glovebox emblems were different for all 3 models; Polara, Pioneer and Phoenix.
Only the Pioneer model used one with the same style FL logo as on the front fender.
The Phoenix had a different "winged" theme. And Polara a "star" with "DODGE" name.
See pictures showing glovebox emblem for each model.
