I was told this tag is Canadian. It was one of 100 or so Plymouths built in Canada and sold in the US market. I am concerned about the paint code. XRR The car is pink and is not offered. The car is a Savoy Sedan. I'll post a pic of the tag.

The tag is not Canadian. The Canadian tag had four rows -
Model Number
Body Number
Paint Code
Trim Code

Also, Chrysler of Canada did not have an "R" paint code in 1958, but Plymouth in the U.S. did.

The "X" is for Iceberg White while "R" is for Sunset Beige, a Spring colour that is pinkish. In the paint code, the "X" is for the roof colour, "R" for the body colour and the second "R" for the insert or sweep colour.

What are the first four digits of the VIN?
