| Hi Folks!
I recently purchased my first forward look car a '56 Coronet Lancer. I was hoping someone might help me decode the cowl tag so I know how she came from the factory?
Cowl tag reads:
Sequence 01 04 16 050
Body 816
PNT 271
Trim 5314
Any help appreciated! |

Location: bishop, ca | OOPS; sorry I missed this; from your info, your Coronet 2-dr HT V/8 model was built o.o.a. 1/4/56, and had a color
combination code that I've seen before, but don't know what it may be; the Trim is for black and white cloth and
vinyl.
The "4", after the "531" has me confused, however. That '4' might appear under an adjacent "SP" heading.
Can you post an image of your Paint/Trim data plate here?
So, what color scheme IS "271" ???
Thanks!

| I tried to take a picture of the tag but my cheap digital won't let me get a clear shot. I've posted it anyway since you can see the relative position of the characters.
The Coronet is currently blue. I think the original color my have been a Charchol Gray color from looking at the inderside of the trunk lid. I can't tell if it was two toned or not ( I'm hoping that it was).
Thanks for the help in trying to decode the tag! |
