| Thanks so much for these . . .
Morgan, someone (you?) has also done a very good job digitizing these vintage brochures. It takes a bit of Photoshop work to descreen and optimize the color and contrast so well. They look better here than they do on the paper, I bet.

"1957"
Hey there mogge-
I used this image to photoshop my New Yorker's "original" colors onto to get an idea of what it would look like.
I have an ad for 'THE MIGHTY CHRYSLER' with a profile drawing of a blue/white '57 NYer hardtop that I don't see here. I will try to get it scanned.

Sure. Anything you would like to see?
Here's a few Chryslers, including a photo of the blue/white NYer ad I mentioned before. I've never seen it before or since-

"The Big Brute"
Better known as "The Big Brute", the Chrysler 300E, considered part of the New Yorker
series, continued the tradition of luxurious, high-performance driving pleasure. Minor
styling revisions and the use of a "wedge-shaped" combustion chamber engine were
changes. The new engine was said to have performance equal to or slightly better than
the 392 hemi engine which left no doubt as to the car's heritage. A revived grill on the
familiar theme eliminated the vertical bar look. A 300 insignia was placed on the driver's
side of the hood, in line with the headlamps. Swivel bucket seats were available and the
red-white-blue medallion was positioned in its usual place. The letter "E" was added to
the medallion to signify the new model as the 300E. This was the last year for separate
body and frame design.
The appearance of the 300 E was similar to the previous model. The most significant
change was the use of narrow horizontal red bars highlighted by four chrome bars in place
of the older eggcrate grille. Red bars were also used in the narrow air scoops for the front
brakes that were positioned below the headlights. Also new were the "300" letters located
on the lower, driver side portion of the hood. At the rear were new taillights and a larger
bumper with recessed back-up lights. The 300 medallion was positioned near the front of
the side sweep spear. Also new were wheelcovers with gear-shaped center portions.
Inside, the instrumental continued the tradition of easy-to- read gauges with two large
circular gauges. The left unit contained the odometer and the 150 mph speedometer. The
right unit contained the ammeter, fuel, oil pressure, and water temperature gauges.
300E I.D. NUMBERS:
Serial numbers and engine numbers were located as on previous models. All cars were
built in Detroit and numbered M591-100001 and up.
300E SERIES:
Model Body Style Body Type Shipping Total

bearings. Hydraulic valve lifters. Cooling system: 16 quarts. Carburetors: two (2) Carter
four-barrels Type AFB Model 2798S. The 413 Wedge also featured low-restriction air
cleaners, heavy-duty valve springs and dampers, and a fluid fan drive.
CHASSIS FEATURES:
Wheelbase: 126 inches. Overall length: 220.9 inches. Front tread: 61.2 inches. Rear tread
60.0 inches. Tires: 9.00 X 14 inches. The 300E suspension continued to use front torsion
bars and semi-elliptic rear leaf springs.
CONVENIENCE OPTIONS:
Power steering. Power windows. Power brakes. Pushbutton Chrysler Torqueflite 3-speed
automatic transmission. Power swivel seats. Air-temp air conditioning. Custom super
soft cushion rayon white sidewall tires. Stainless steel wheel covers. Remote control
mirror. AM radio. Power antenna. Solex glass. Heater. Rear window defroster. Auto-Pilot.
Windshield washer. Undercoating. Non-slip differential. Hand brake warning lights. Sill
moldings. Both the coupe and convertible were available in six different colors: ivory white,
formal black, cameo tan, metallic turquoise-grey, radiant red, or copper spice.
HISTORICAL FOOTNOTES:
This was the first year of the "B" block engines. It was the last year for separate body and
frame construction. Golden Lion was the new advertising theme. The 1959 models were
introduced on October 24, 1958.
PERFORMANCE:
Acceleration was fast at a claimed 8.3 second 0-60 time.

OK, nobody's posted these two ads, yet,
showing the 57 Windsor and the 58
Saratoga, with the same 'Sportive'
theme.
Great looking car styles!
In 1958, the Windsors became modified
'Dodges', and Chrysler wanted to highlight
the same long wheelbase, although nobody
would ever have thought to dig-out the 1957
version of this ad, to compare the two
years' cars' body differences.
So, here's, also, the 58 Spring Special Windsor
model, the "Dartline", with the shorter 'Dodge-body'.

Really classy looking cars.
I've never seen a surviving 58 Dartline model.
Think that that stainless-strip, below the door served any useful purpose?
Oh, yeah....unfortunately!
Just noticed that this ad depicts the car as having body-colored headlight doors, similar
to the painted headlight doors as seen on (some-) 58 Dodge Spring Special models.

I have a 1958 Windsor "Dartline" a 2dr.ht. like the one in the ad, actually exactly like the one, it also have the same colour combo, "Cypress Green Metalic" body and "Ermine" white roof.
There is only one problem, it needs to be totally restored, and i need both money and parts, unfortunaly.
Beside mine i know of 3 other "Dartline's" in the world, one 4 dr.ht. that i saw in Carlisle some 18 years in a very nice shape, and two 2 dr.ht., one in Arizona in abouth same condition as mine, and one in Sweden that was under restoration about 2 year ago, but i have'nt heard what happend with it, so yes they are rare.
If your question about the moulding under the door was reeal, then no it serve absolutly no purpose, except collecting dirt, and due to the size of the trim it can collect a lot, but it looks nice.
The body colour headlight doors ( is that what they are called ?), that is not correct, mine is grey and so is the other that i have seen.

Location: bishop, ca | Hey, Torben---yeah, I guess that the Dartline's ARE rare animals.
I was making a joke about the molding on the rocker panel area.
After 1957, the factory, and the aftermarket, began selling stainless moldings like 'this' one, apparently, to HIDE
the existence of rusting along those lower areas.
So, the existence of a stainless molding is sorta like seeing an obvious (aren't they ALL?) toupee on a man..."We know
what it's THERE for...."
You should advertise you car's specific hard-to-find parts-needs on our message boards.
And, let's see your car, on its own Members Rides message-thread.
We all can learn something, and hopefully help you restore that car!

Money isn´t x-tly falling out o my A-hole lol . I try to renovate all issues as they come along and hopefully in the future i can paint it! As for the thread about Dartline i should start it "RIGHT NOW". There´s a Dartline under Restoration at e22:ans handelshus i Västervik. http://usacarse22.com/ see ya!

Abouth the "Dartline in Västervik is that the black one i head abouth, almost 2 years ago ?
I will try to start the thread abouth the Dartline, look out for it.

I always looked at it because it's very big and could see many details while waiting for mine (between purchasing and the delivery at the final destination).
Happy motoring!

Location: Brooklyn NY | I love the artwork in the vintage ads. Everything nowadays is just photos....which is fine I guess. But the artwork just oozed style and glamor, and I think added a real fantasy element to ownership.
They were car ads as much as fashion ads and pure Americana..........Ralph from Brooklyn |

Location: bishop, ca | The arm rest(s) is/are installed backwards on that Windsor vert.
Mind boggling that, of all the various years/styles of all the interior trim panels that were available, by 1959, Chrysler chose
the 1957 Dodge Custom Royal style as being the one that was best suited for use in the '59 Windsor series.
BTW, in Re: the beautiful ladies adorning the car carriers, above; the upper two women fooled me into believing that they
were actually situated on the two cars.
The next lower photo shows that the three women were obviously (crudely) cut-and-pasted onto the base photograph by
the subject ad agency.
