Hi. I have a 361 engine from a 1959 Dodge Custom Royal (Canadian Car). I have completely rebuilt the Engine. During the process the dipstick tube was broken and it was noticed that the dip stick had been broken and welded sometime in the past. Could someone tell me the length of the tube from the block to the top end? Also the length of the dip stick from the bottom to top of the little cap that limits how far it can be inserted . Thanks John

The replacement tube will have a formed bead to prevent it from being installed too deep. Unless you're concerned with originality, any matched big block tube and dipstick will work as long as it clears the exhaust manifold, etc.
