Location: Michigan | Late last summer I was driving through a small michigan town and stumbled across a tiny car show. I noticed a set of dodge fins poking out from the crowd and had to stop. Turned out to be a 57 D-500! The owner was a lovely woman who explained she wanted a 1957 because thats the year she got married. She went on to say that was a big deal back then because people didnt have sex until marraige-LOL! At first she wanted a 57 Chxxy but fell in love with the fins and pushbuttons of the dodge. It was a wonderful moment and I was very glad to have stopped.

Location: The Mile High City | Nice car, nice colors! That story makes you wonder if the folks who use this website are the majority of forwardlook owners or the tiny minority!

Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area) | jason, Nice Dodge D-500, Typical overcast hazy skies...Looks like the the Thumb area of Michigan. Use to go to a bunch of car shows in Bad Axe, Lakeport and Lapeer area. Wherever it was at looked like a nice cozy show.
Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story behind the car.

Location: Parts Unknown | How long did she own this car ? Sounds like she bought it after wanting one for some time ... and did not own it since early days.
The reason I ask .... A guy named Fiorito bought a car just like this from Mopar Mel in the early 80's ... my first exposure to "fine"
workmanship. If I didn't know better, I might think this is the same car (?) .

Location: Michigan | Thanks John... to be honest I dont even know the name of the town ,Somewhere about a half hour south-west of saginaw
Dr. desoto...I didnt get a chance to speak with her husband but I dont think they owned it for decades-and it certainly wasnt a recent purchase.
It seemed a VERY nice restoration and was holding up well. A tiny cowl chip showed decent looking original blue paint underneath. |
