Location: Connecticut | I usually don't like green cars, but this one could be the exception. Interior is super nice. Lots of power options as well. 24k is a bit high. Maybe 18-20, considering that the paint is older and probably has some chips, etc. Ron |

Location: Fleetwood, Pa | The paint does look to be rubbed through on the front fender eyebrows........I'd find a way if it was a 57 or 58 however....... |

Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | The car is in Illinois, but notice the license plates are Oregon. Yet another example of a well preserved west coast car!! This is pretty nice but the asking price is a little high considering the car needs a repaint. look close at the passenger door and above the headlights. Very nice car though, and loaded - I Like!

Location: Florida | Wondering - where is evidence that this particular car had air suspension as noted in the ad text?
Or do y'all think the seller was only referring to the availability of air suspension?
It doesn't have the headlight dimmer that's also noted.
Text from the eBay auction:
Once in a while a very clean and honest car that has been well taken care of its WHOLE life comes up for sale. ONCE IN A WHILE!!!
This 1959 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman hardtop is one of 1393 that were made that year - that's it. That year they came with the 383 c.i. motor, swivel seats, air suspension in the rear, electronic headlight dimmer, and push-button heater controls.
This car has it all and loads of options ------ power windows, power seat, rear seat speaker, dual exhaust, outside left remote control mirror, touch-tuner radio, triad horn, and stone deflectors.
All the power options work and the radio works well. Heater and defroster work in all speeds.
The car has had one repaint (older paint job) and the chrome is original and still looks good. Interior is untouched since 1959!!!!! It is in amazing condition.
Mechanically, she can be driven anywhere. Earlier this year she received a complete and full tune-up alone with a radiator flush. If you look closely at the pictures a lot of the original clips are on all the hoses still!!! The jiffy jet bag (from what I can tell) is not a repro and very well the original one and is still soft. The car is stored in my heated garage.
Body wise and underneath are amazing. I will post pictures of underneath later today. A collector's dream. I also have the original owner's manual.
I have enjoyed this car and now time for someone else to enjoy. |
