Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Voted for 4Ephemera - but the name is wrong - ephemera stand for something that lasts in a short period of time. I know several people that still lives in the fifties and will do so until they die (hmmm maybe to rough, read "decease" instead).
Perfect title would be "Lost in the fifties and trying hard to stay there" |

Location: Connecticut | Currently, there are five threads under Members' Rides containing lots of rare pictures of our FL cars. Threads are in this format: [Make of car] Info and Pic's. They deserve their own sub-forum, as they really don't fit the current the current forum (Members' Rides). Maybe relocate them under Non-Technical Discussion ?

Ron

I like the idea of a 50's lifestyle section. But I think Lawrence's ideas aren't that good.
As I've said before; this is Dave's forum, and Dave's rules. |

Location: Bama | A gardening and cooking section is a good idea! Lots of us are about to tiller up some plots for a garden. Cooking gets into BBQ sauces and such. BBQ sauces differ a lot all around the world. Big M turned me onto to some stuff and I turned him onto some also. Also I traded some BBQ sauces with a mate in the UK and now HP Sauce stays at my house!

Location: Bama | I also added "Christine Section". That way a lot of Christine crap doesn't have to be all around the forum, it can stay in one area. Seems to be a lot of Forward Look people that don't like "Christine" and they don't have to see it so much then unless they just want to torture themselves.

Location: Bama | You can delete the word "Christine" in the word filter. You can have the "correct" guys nail the car as incorrect but you are still left with this fact:
Christine is a car that all of you know and it IS a Forward Look car. It will never go away and needs it's own section, right here on Forward Look.

Location: Ny | Instead of using 4Ephemera, I would put it more into layman's terms and just call it a "Forward Look Lifestyle" or "Fifties Lifestyle". Otherwise.. I like that category. I, too, think that there should be a Christine specific forum. |

I like this idea.
The same questions pop up over and over from folks that are new to FL-era cars. Examples: How to remove rear brake drums, which windshields interchange, how to remove interior door handles, etc.
We don't even have to rewrite what has already been written a dozen times. Just provide links to existing threads where this is discussed in depth.

Location: Plymouth Spaceport | I like the idea of a "Life in the 50's and & 60's" section too since I would assume anyone interested in these cars would also be fascinated to some degree by the culture that brought them about. It would be sort of like Forward Looks "time machine",a window into the wonder years of the past when the American Dream was still alive and really meant something.
I think "wizard" and "jessica" are right though, the name needs to be reworked, but as has been pointed out,its your site and you can name it whatever you like.
Some of the other suggestions are obviously ridiculous and have no relation to these cars or the era. They did make me laugh though! especially the reciepes of the 1700's..why stop there, why not a section on "famous comb makers of the old west","A pictorial guide to the brothels visited by Howard Hughes" or "Corn Dog Sticks from around the Globe" |

I agree as well. I think this could serve this group well, to help newbies quickly find the info they are looking for. I think it would need to be managed by a good moderator to prevent it from becoming too cluttered. Make changes by request.
You could have a separate section for Frequently Asked Modification Questions (FAMQ) to separate it from doing stock repairs, also managed by a good moderator.
I added a Rt 66 subtopic as many of us are interested in that.
I think that an off-topic car build area would be beneficial as well, to remove those threads from the nether region. It's nice to see what other things people are working on.
