Location: Milwaukee Wisconsin | Picked up a dual exaust system for my 54 dodge royal from Kepich exhaust a few months ago .. waiting til it warms up here in wisconsin to install it .
anyway...............
Questions is....... these mufflers appear to be very similar in shape and dimensions to the mopar sono 4x mufflers .. that are oblong and 33 inches long .. .. and they Weigh a TON ! does anyone recall the sound of this type muffler? will they have a nice sound/rumble or so quite you can't here much sound ?
they appear to be very restricted too.. 2" inlet , 1.75" outlet.
just curious !

With out standing near your car this is a hard subject to address. As you know even the 1955 Chrysler 300 which had a known speed much higher than your
Dodge with more cubes had a very suddle bump - bump - bump - bump. It was not until 1968 The Rumble of B-Bodied GTX's or the like was used ( and this
was part of the sales marketing - you never heard a like year 1968 Chrysler 300 sounding like that ).

back in the 50's nothing really had loud mufflers on from the factory..
even like you said ... the chrysler 300's just had a faint rumble ..
so I can imagine those mopar sono 4x replicas I got with my kepich system will probally be quite.. Than's alright though.. I want it to be quite will cruising on long trips. after all a 241 redram only has 150 hp.
I'll post some videos up when I do the install. soon as I figure out how to make the pictures smaller and videos compacted more .

Location: bishop, ca | The Sono 4-X'ers sound great---deep and rumbly; like you're really packing a 'pair' of them!
Of course, how they sound depends upon your cam-grind and exhaust pipe diameter and whether
you've got steel, aluminized, or tinny-sounding stainless steel pipes.

They cut the pipes into smaller pieced to cut shipping cost, so you'll need a bunch of clamps.
Mine didn't fit twice, and they refused to refund my money. Had to have the credit card company intervene.
After my money was refunded, months went by and they never made any arrangements to pick up their useless exhaust system.i don't remember the exact size of the mufflers, but they didn't appear too small.

Kepich did not cut my pipes sections in half to ship them just 3 three sections and the muffler.. looks correct. mufflers are repop mopar sono 4x style > 33 inches long 2" inlet 1.75" outlet .
head pipes 2" and tails 1.75".. He gave me a hole box of original style 50's clamps too . free of charge .
I'll keep you all posted when I install the system.

I recall seeing 2x also .
something to do with the length or baffles?

Location: Big pimpin' | Keep in mind, the size of piping, engine displacement, Compression, and firing order all play a role in how well a perticular car sounds. Muffler definately contribute, but isn't all of it.
I've had good luck Dynamax/Magnaflow ultra flows with glasspacks as resonators. Sounds awesome and no drone.

the sono's are a stock/oem replication version .
They a were too quite it for me.. needed a little rumble. haha.
But they are for sale if anyone is looking for a pair.. they were run for about a minute . I just shoved the pipes in on each end just to here what they sounded like.
2" inlet and 1.75" outlet 35" long.

IN E ..... 2255 and 8255 .... M521
measurements are ..........35" long , width 5" . thick 3.5" ... inlet 2" outlet 1.75"
brand new . pipes were shoved in on each end ( not clamped ) to here what they sounded like ...... too quiet for my taste .... about a minute Run time on them.

Location: bishop, ca | John (if it's not too late--and it really isn't), you can paint the mufflers in (very-)high-heat Aluminum, and they will
look like OEM galvanized steel pieces.
The Aluminum will look more 'metallic' than would Silver color.
As long as the muffs are cleaned, they will hold the paint on them.
