I highly doubt the moon and stars will all fall into place to make attendance possible, but
this sounds like a nice, relaxed drive and slacker weekend. Would love to put the Plaza
through the paces and make this event, but I suspect I won't be home yet and the car won't
quite be finished.

Sounds like fun. The Plaza is definitely not going to make it, but I will be boots-on-ground.
It will be interesting to see what those first weeks present for fires to put out, but a nice long
drive across the Big Bend country to get to Wenatchee sounds REAL good !

Does that mean you will be back home and coming to Wenatchee?

When the bird touches down and you go boots on the ground, it's a scramble for position until
the battle plan can be plugged into the existing conditions. Hard to say. I think my brother's
Polara is all roadworthy and up for a trip. Who knows ?

If I come, it will be for the car show on Saturday. This is my backyard, so the tours and
stuff are old news for me. Will you be bringing the Saratoga, or are you showing your van ?

Update - Wed afternoon 6 PM arrival at the Coast Wenatchee hotel. Took the 9 AM ferry from Victoria to Vancouver, then to the border crossing - one hour border wait at approx 11 AM. Drove to Bellingham, WA and stopped for lunch - and shopped at Harbor Freight - lots of good tools & stuff. Left there 1:30 - Then south down I-5 to the exit to Highway 2 over the Stevens Pass. Stopped for Ice Cream in the pass, then drove on to Wenatchee.. IT's HOT here 39 deg. celcius, about 100 F. But it's a dry heat!! Looking forward to tomorrow's tours.

Looks like Widdo Bwudder and I will be there on Saturday. I'll look for the locksmith van.
The Locksmith van is a turquoise two door hardtop, just in case you miss it. By the way, my cell phone has no service here at all. It's on the Mike network, which is supposed to be in most major cities in USA and Canada but not in Wenatchee, apparently.

Jon Carson, president of Puget Sound WPC Club, and our meet host, had an accident last night - was working underneath his Dad's car and the e brake let go and rolled over his chest, broke ribs and collar bone. Jon is in hospital, apparently cracking jokes. Fortunately his Dad was there and was able to jack up the car but Jon was unconscious at that point. Jon's Dad, is over 90 years old is still active / drives / and is involved in the club. Fortunately for Jon, he was right there to help or it could have been much worse.

That's terrible news about Jon! I'm glad it wasn't worse, because worse would have been very, very bad. Jon's a great guy.
I can't be there for the Saturday meet, but I'm leaving Tacoma now to check out the scene tonight and tomorrow, and hanging out with my friends with a red G. I'll wear my black Fwd Look website T-shirt.

Yes, good to meet you ! I shot a few, but was far from complete in getting them all.
The 55 Fireflite was a real pretty one than escaped my camera. Zappone's 56 DeSotos
did too.

No problem, John. You just have to put up with my "priorities" for what is camera-worthy or what I
simply missed as I was chatting up various car guys I have not seen in years or a few I had never met.
I am sure Ian will post up all the bathtubs, fins I missed, and other cars that don't interest me - Valiants,
94 New Yorkers, bread vans, etc ... I think the WPC has him on retainer as Chief Photographist and
Head Internet Posterator.

I had to leave Friday night, so I'm disappointed I didn't get to meet you, Doc. Nice finally meeting you, Ian. This gave me renewed inspiration to work on my '60. From the cars I saw Thursday and Friday, I just could not pick a favorite.

Dave, yeah, it was nice to meet you too. For everyone else who wasn't there, on Wedneday afternoon when we pulled into Wenatchee is was 99 degrees. Thursday and Friday it was 104-105, but it cooled down on Saturday to about 95. Whew. Back home now in Victoria on Vancouver Island to normal temperatures. Was about 73 here today, a little cooler than it has been this past month. We've actually had no rain here for more than a month, and constant sunshine the whole time. I'll get some more photos up this week.

Yep, a record no measurable rain in the Puget Sound region all July. I was cold last night and wished I was back in Wenatchee. But I hear a forest fires sprung up near there. Saturday I had one of the few reasons that would keep me away from the show - My daughter had been having music camp all week, and Saturday was the final concert. I had to see if my money paid off! Speaking of which, I understand that by leaving early I also missed a concert by singer/songwriter Ian, "unplugged."
Anyway, I don't get to enjoy my car hobby much these days, and this trip did me good.

These are the balance of Forward Looks represented at the meet. I'll have the entire show on the WPC Site at some point. The setting for the show was at Rocky Reach Dam, in Wenatchee, WA, a beautiful site for a show.
Take the bottom link "2013 WPC Regional , Wenatchee WA"
For the sake of all posterity, the pic. below is of the infamous Dr. DeSoto and myself having a chat at the car show. He's on the left, I'm on the right.

60 Imp - 2013-11-11 4:35 AM
Thanks for the link to the pics, Some outstanding FL cars in that lot. I looked through most all, and only got glimpses of the 60 Polara.
The 56 Imp looks like a beauty, along with the 56 Desoto, and the................well, you get the drift! Thanks again.
Steve.
Steve, not sure why there weren't more photos of the Polara. I owned it from 1974-1995 and sold it to my good friend Ron, who still owns it here in town. I see it regularly and it has been to all the Northwest WPC Meets over the years. Here are a few pics I have archived.
Ron added a vintage Mopar Airtemp A/C system to it last spring to make it comfortable to travel to and from our Northwest Meets - especially the meet being talked about on this page, it was between 95-104 F in Wenatchee the few days we were there. But it was a dry heat!

Be careful what you long for, you just might get it. Whole summers of weekends wasted in parking lots getting
sunburned, surfaces back home cluttered with show flyers, ribbons, and trophies, a car stuffed with lawn chairs
and coolers, and if you really want to go the full shammy, get the rockabilly clothes, sound system, and fake drive-
in tray full of fake food to go with the cardboard cutouts of Elvis and James Dean.
