One of the last options that I'd like to retrofit, but, the inner fender's access panel is very elongated, compared to the smaller,
circular access opening on the manual antenna cars, so, some fairly serious surgery is required, to install a P/A.
Bummer...
It's got the big 12" brakes, too.

Location: Belford, NJ | There would be absolutely zero reason to restore that car. Unless it comes out that this car has magical powers to solve world hunger, create world peace etc... this is the definition of a parts car. Now that I got that off my chest... it's a really interesting parts car at that. I mean, even with a spun bearing or whatever it was that parked it, it's still got the 392! |

Smitty-
I bought a '59 Merc Parklane from Pearson's wrecking several years ago, and someone had used the exact same method to extract the center section.

......
It was put in the woods to rot away in 1965 ?? ...... at only an apparent 59 000 miles and still a young 8 years old !!!!
Seems criminal to me, I don't really understand the owners ( at the time ) reason for doing that with just an seemingly simple spun bearing needing repair.
A real pity

I say yes, still a parts car.
It would either be parts for another convertible's restoration -or-
it would be parts to re-body a hardtop as a convertible |

Location: bishop, ca | The reason (a major one, anyway) that this car was 'parked' when it was only 8 years old is: the car was essentially
WORTHLESS, at that time....with a 'bad' engine/whatever.
Maybe not even 'worth' the cost to haul it to a crusher? But, a 4-door "FINNED (the horror)" Imperial? Who'd ever be interested
in that relic?
Maybe the car was 'put away' due to some sentimental value (like freeze-drying/stuffing your deceased family pet), or, maybe
because "some day" its owner/family might repair or 'restore' it...?
Be thankful that it didn't get a 1-way trip to Crusherville.
A D501 vert was reportedly 'salvaged', around 1962, after it skidded off of a roadway and crashed into a ditch, damaging its right fender area.

Smitty-
Pearson's in Mariposa is long gone. The owner had a stroke about ten years ago, and his car went over a cliff and killed him. About five years ago, I made an appointment with Wendy, his daughter, to view what was there, many cars had already been crushed, but I made a list of fifteen Mopars that I would have bought from her. She never would give me prices on the cars I requested, and crushed everything else at a later date. Too bad, I had bought a lot of cars from her father over the years, they were $500 each regardless.
Neil, the website you have there is Pearson's in Pearsonville, California. Formerly home to Hubcap Lucy. A core buyer informed me they had been bought out several years ago, and crushed most of the old iron, in favor of late model salvage.

Location: Houston | Something happened to junkyard owners about 20 years ago. They became salvage operation owners. And even worse, recycling center owners.
They decided they could, and would, charge by the part and each part would cost half of what a new part would cost. They stopped driving cars no better than the ones they were dismantling and began driving new Escalades with Nav systems and leather seats. They moved to houses that were in no way located on the grounds of their recycling center. And any car that was over 5 years old was slated for the crusher.
Well....it sucked but then I guess they are no different than almost any other profession. Does anyone remember when you'd go to a hot dog stand and the owner would be running it? Now, they are out doing God-knows-what while some 16 year old who could not possibly care less gives you an undercooked hot dog and makes you beg for a packet of mustard.

I did have the rear rings remade for the rear quarters-- they are ghia only and two were missing-- I need the front fender moldings as the ones on this LIMO have been changed when the car was crashed in the front. It has 59 Imperial molding on the front fenders |

Location: Kansas City, KS | the fender trim itself looks like '58 pieces. the 5in center V section above the headlights is definitely '59 style though. those are hard to find for 58's, if they aren't badly pitted then they are usually split along the crease.
I don't have any spare center sections, but may have other '58 parts if you need them. |

Alright, Mister Know-it-all ....
This is a fine example of tact and bad delivery.
Pearson's of Mariposa (the Pearson's we were discussing) is long gone. How do I know this ? I wanted
some parts out of there and Big M dialed me in on the fate of the place.
So, do you tactfully phrase your post "Is this the same Peason's ?" ??? No, you phrase it in your typical
"I have all the answers" condescending fashion that makes you the popular guy you are.
Then, to cap it off, when Big M does set you straight (in a very tactful manner), there is no acknowledgement,
apology, or otherwise. Just a snarky silence that further cements your reputation as a douchebag.
Mr. Vedder, .... not sure if you enjoy a strong dose of Asperger's Syndrome, or you just choose to behave the
way you do, but let me be the 11,923rd person to tell you that you lose 90% of your audience when you talk to
them the way you do, no matter how solid your intel is. Given what I have seen over the past 5 years, I would
say you would be one of those guys reported as killed by friendly fire if you were over here. As much of an asset
as I think you are, your constant insulting demeanor has cost you my respect and I find it a wonder someone has
not physically harmed you after all these years of this kind of performance.
I hope you take this as constructive criticism and take steps to improve your delivery.
Good day.
