Is it really true that 90% of all 59 Dodge convertible production was built as Super D-500
cars ??? Or is it just that the kind of guys attracted to this kind of car insist on building them
as such ?
Inquiring minds ...

Location: Parts Unknown | I think I just pegged what it is that gels me out about the "old car scene" .... it is
something about modesty, or "conservative presence" ... or more accurately ... lack thereof.
I know it is hard to be modest when one's starting point is a finned car, but ....
Thanks for helping me find clarity.

Location: Sept. 1958 | Perhaps most people restore a car to the way they would have ordered it if they had that chance. That's the best time to make that decision when it's all apart. But I knew you knew that. |

I guess someone would have to have access to Historical's microfiche records, bring along their Gravol and have lots of time and patience to truly answer that question.
OTOH, I wouldn't dismiss your theory, one bit! |

Location: Connecticut | In all my research of 59 Dodges, I've only come across one authentic Super D500. IMHO, folks build up these cars because they're fast, flashy, win awards at shows and will bring more bux when sold or auctioned off. How many of cars at Concours of America had small block V8s ? | I think there might have been two. One was a '63 Corvette coupe, and the other was a movie showcar. The showcar turned out to be one of two made for the movie and the other one was powered by a stovebolt six! |

Sold on ebay a couple of years ago from upstate NY. If you do a search on the ebay forum, you should be able to find it along with some pics. Ron |
