I got this Email from a young guy restoring his first vehicle, a 59 Dodge D-100 and he needs some help on the engine ID
If anyone knows then I'll send the information back to him.

" Hi, I have what I think is a 318 out of a 1959 dodge
D100. the block number has an A2 on it, but the actual # is 1737929 with a 2
above it. the intake # is 859228 and has a 5 below it. Im 18 and restoring my
first car. , Im just trying to find out what year the engine is and what the size is,
but there is next to nothing on the internet. One of the forums that I was reading
said that your club may have some people who may know.
Thanks for your time,
Cory countryfarmtruck@gmail.com"

Have him look on the front of the block just below the drivers side head, the engine serial number will be stamped there.

The intake casting number 1859229 is a poly engine 4-barrel used up to around '62.

the 1737929 is a shared casting number 59 to @ 64 . to pin it down to exact yr , the stamped number below left head is needed . -------------------------------------------later
