I think most who get on here regularly know of my want for a cross rammed car
Reading another thread, Neil posted this picture and I was surprised at the performance (or lack of) for what looked to be a cross rammed plymouth
16.5 sec 1/4 mile is crap
If thats what they do out of the box, I would like to hear about performance mods that people do to get these things to lift their skirts and get going

My stepdad, back in the day, had a 60 savoy 361(early) sono car, auto, sure-grip, nothing at the local dragstrip could touch it, the LONG ram was tuned to 23-2400 rpm for max HP and torque, the SHORT ram was 34oo I believe, they were a terror on the street, 1/4 mile they fell off, that's not what they were designed for. intimidation factor? WOW, visually and the sound of he hood being sucked in was awesome.
I o am Jonesing for a Sono car, I have a chance, but slim. as the ol' song say's "It's now or never"

I run low 12's in the quarter with my '60 Belvedere. Engine is stroked to 470", run the "short" long rams with a mild cam, later 727 with a manual VB:
It's still tame enough to take to a local cruise:
Right!!, but that can't be You, looks like a old man in there havin' fun. By the way, ya need to get that frame checked, looks like it's tweaked and one wheel is in the air, no tread wear on that tire ! :-)

My '60 longram stroker-turd did 8.6 on the 1/8th mile before driveline vibrations at the time put a lid on it at half track and made me coast the NY down to the 1/4 mile line.

Here's my F goin' back together last weekend after a major. Had to go .030 to get it cleaned up and sleeve one cyl. Not happy about that, but it is what it is!!
Will be at MoPars on The Mississippi this weekend, will kick off the cruise Sat at 4PM and be on the dash plaque this year.

A little air under that wheel would have been nice but I didn't fancy the idea of making the 2 hour trip to the track with a highstall convertor and the 3.9 gears in the axle.
I did that once in a '67 440 Newport with a 3800 stall convertor and 3.9 gears but it wasn't an easy ride.
Another concern was also keeping everything running and working properly for the trip home
