Location: Central Alberta | Central Alberta Mopar Association held their annual Mopars at the Mall event this past Saturday in Red Deer, Alberta on a nice warm day.
Turnout was good with over 170 cars, with lots of A, E and B bodies in impressive conditions, some C bodies and trucks and four Forwardlook
cars, which included Jeff`s 1960 Desoto pulling his 1960 Camper (!) and two `59s that arrived on trailers.
Edmonton Police displayed their Drag Cars to promote their street legal race program; anybody who wants to can race them and each other
every Friday nite at Castrol Raceway during Summer.
After the show there was a cruise in downtown, organized by the nearby Springbrook Shakedown event, some of us went there for the rest of the nite

We talked to the owners, nice older couple, they said they bought it about six years ago in Victoria.
they live about one hour from Red Deer, brought the car on a trailer, not sure why.

| Great pics, was a fun day. in that fourth shot, I look like I was starting into a Micheal Jackson lean, haha.
I think that says a lot about the '57 Mayfairs that it looks every bit as 'fancy' as a Cadillac! |

Location: Ponder, TX | I really like the '57 Mayfair. Some of the Canadian sheetmetal swaps didn't look quite right, but this one works almost better than the Plymouth version. The Plymouth side spear and the Dodge grille bar work very well together.
I noticed the truck was a Dodge. Did they offer both Dodge and Fargo in Canada during that era, or is that one a US import? |

Thanks Gary, the `57 Mayfairs were well executed, everything comes together.
As far as I know, both Fargo and Dodge trucks were sold in Canada, there is some history on Fargo trucks here;

Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | The Fargo trucks were sold at Plymouth dealers back in the day. When I bought my business in 1976, it came with a 1972 Fargo Tradesman 100 Van, that had been bought new from the local Plymouth dealer. It said Fargo on the front grille, and had Dodge script on the rear cargo door. WHO was on the assembly line that day??? :-) |
