Location: Denver | I know this is not a ForwardLook vehicle, but it is at least a family cousin! I have just completed restoration of this Ghia L 6.4 coupe (9 of 26), thanks in part to the kind help of members of ForwardLook.net. These cars were built with many Mopar mechanical and trim parts, and I have asked for and always received prompt, excellent help in identifying needed parts and getting mechanical advice. Thanks to all of you who have helped me complete this car!

Location: bishop, ca | Ya gotta align them windshield wipers, John!
(They should reside flat against the bottom of the windshield).
LOL' nice 'going' on your work!
Now, since it's in Show (winning) condition, what are your intentions about driving/enjoying its beautiful appearance?

Location: The Mile High City | Wow! Great car, John. Where were the images taken, Cramner Park? All the details on the car are amazing. I really like that instrument cluster and center console: it looks like a car James Bond would drive! |

I had the "Dinky Toy" die-cast of this car when I was a kid, and recognized from the model, even though I was only about 9 years old, that the car used Chrysler components - the windshield was the dead give-away to me. |

What are you going to do with the car, now that it is fully restored?

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Amazing car John, good work and surely a difficult task to renovate such a rare bird. I woul appriciate some explanation of the gadget in the car - it seems like there is the 55 "joystick" shift lever, the Imperial Power vent windows with Chrysler window regulators, but what about the other "Power window" buttoms.
Could you please write a post to educate us more deeply John? |

Location: Denver | Thanks for all the comments and questions! I believe the transmission selector is a custom piece. Ghia chose not to use a Park setting; the Parking brake is the driveline type.
There are power vent and side windows--the vertical one for the vent, the horizontal one for the side window. The rearward power window switches are for the seats! And they are Imperial switches, with the matte finish.
The radio is a DeSoto model with a "Ghia" badge covering the DeSoto nameplate. The dash knobs and switches are 60-61 DeSoto.
I am selling this car as I have another L 6.4 coupe (acquired during the first one's restoration). More details and history about these cars can be found at www.GhiaL64.com. Thanks! John |

Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | The Texas car is really stunning. We can see where the stylists came up with the roofline idea for the Plymouth Barracuda. The rear end with the triple lights on either side reminds me of one proposal that I saw of the 1962 De Soto (which never happened)

Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | I'd say it is a Forward Look even though it's not one of the PDDCI club. The rear is all Exner and John Samson's 62 DeSoto for sure. The cowl and windshield are 60-62 Chrysler (etc.). I like how the 383 has a 59 Plymouth Golden Commando air cleaner. It's really almost an exact evolution of the Firebomb and Firearrow, and of course the manufacturer for Ghia, Casaroli's relationship with Exner lead to the Stutz. Here is an engineering question-- pre unibody-era Dual Ghia's had modified Chrysler frames, I believe. Did the post 60 Dual Ghia's use the sub frame connected to a full frame? In other words, does this beauty have a Chrysler front suspension, etc.? Many don't know that 60-63 (?) unibody sub frames line up exactly with 57-9 MoPars of the same wheel base and can successfully be spliced in without other significant modification issues. |

Location: The Mile High City | Ok, it is a long shot - but here is a great deal on a high-quality custom made car cover if you happen to have one of these cars: http://www.covercraftoutlet.com/index.php?c=1&i=C126CG I'm not sure it is worth buying the car just to get the cover deal though! |
