Location: Sept. 1958 | Yeah, a gas heater. Odd, in a ragtop it's exhaust comes out passenger side in front of wheel like AAR Cuda! I can not describe the restoration of this car. I call it a da Vinci restoration. It was done by TZ Restorations in PA, took 4 1/2 years to complete, or about as long as the Forward Look era lasted! |

Location: Ontario, Canada | Thanks, Matt, I don't think I have ever seen a restored gas heater. After 4 1/2 years I assume it works!!
Have fun at the show!

Yes, it was great to meet you and your wife. I remember seeing Tom Gerrard's Firedome 10 or 11 years ago but don't really remember it well, can't say I've ever seen another 58 senior Desoto ragtop in the flesh until yours. It is a wonderful automobile. Great time at Hershey, I met a couple of Swedes that were nice people. One had a 58 Dodge and one had a 58 Edsel. |

Ron-
There was a 55 Chrysler 4 dr on the showfield along with a 56 Imperial for sale (always people around it) in the car carrol. Both of which were there before. There was quite a few FL parts there, and the usual Mopar venders. |

Location: Nawth Kerolinuh | We had a good time talking with some FL folks from Sweden as well - one with a New Yorker. Also people from Italy, Brazil, UK and a few more accents I had a hard time understanding!
As for seeing a full size DeSoto convertible, it was a pretty rare day when we had two on display at the AACA Grand National earlier this year in Lebanon, TN. One of those Kodak moments because it's not likely to happen again. |

Oh Brad, you'll see two or more together again, it'll just be in Sweden! |

The cars were great, not many FL parts that I saw. I bought an extra rear bumper guard for my wagon in great shape for a great price. Got a few solid leads for that missing piece of trim that I need. Bought some windlace and window fuzzies to install after car is painted.
I really liked seeing the 58 DeSoto conv parked next to the 58 Pontiac conv is was like comparison shopping back in the day.....Ralph from Brooklyn |

Hey Ralph -
We talked about the same thing - how they compared side to side. I think the Pontiac had quite a bit more pasted on flash, plus that Continental kit. A lot of glitz hiding the square lines of the car. I'm kind of biased but I like the cleaner angles of the DeSoto. Still, lots of buyers did the same thing in 58 and Pontiac sold more cars. |
