| Please describe the interior in detail. I need to know the seat type, material(s) and color. I think the 888 code on the plate is a reference to the interior and indicates a special order feature. |

Location: Grenoble - France | Correct, 888 usually denotes a special order for trim.
I don't know the 1959s very well, but (based on what I could find here):
- 0312: 12th of March, 1959
- VIN starting with 657: Imperial (6) LeBaron (5) built in Warren Avenue)
- 654 : LeBaron 4-door hardtop
- AAA : all black
- PW : power windows
- DL9 could mean door locks + sure grip (based on what I've found on this forum).
The SY288 at the end seems weird to me (first time I see something like this after the "S").
Maybe if you could tell us what you see, we can reverse-engineer and see what options it came with...

Location: Victoria, Australia | thanks for the info so far,
It has silver leather with wool inserts.
the last owner got the seats and door cards done.
as far as i know this is factory correct.
It also has the Stainless Steel roof.

| Hi TB,
This interior combination of cloth and leather appears to be from the Crown series. Only all wool broadcloth (standard) or leather and wool broadcloth (optional) interiors were offered on LeBarons. Apparently, a customer special ordered this Crown interior for his LeBaron Southampton. On Crowns, the interior code was 614. Please see attached link showing the upholstery swatch in the color and upholstery book: http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1959/59Databook/08.htm |

Location: Grenoble - France | I can detect A/C, mirrormatic, fliteseep decklid, radio/antenna and swivel seats. A picture of the engine or of the dash knobs would tell the presence of Auto-Pilot. It seems to have the automatic beam changer.
About the upholstery, one picture puzzles me: the right front door panel in the trunk doesn't show any power window knob or power door locks. Are we sure the interior is original to the car, or would have someone started to replace the interior with a Crown series upholstery in order for example to have swivel seats?
Option group 313 (or 314) includes Defogger, Solex Glass, Flitesweep decklid, auto-pilot and sure grip differential. Based on the current clues, I'd say it came with that group (313 = with swivel, 314 = without swivel).

The 888 means a special order interior.
