| I'm converting a 55 dodge to 12 volt and have acquired a 56 12v variable speed wiper motor (my 55 also has a variable speed wiper).
I did a little digging and found the part numbers for the two years. They are different, but I know sometimes things can be interchangeable.
55 variable sw: 1604 463
56 variable sw: 1658 759
I'm needing to find out if I can use the 55 variable wiper switch with the 56 variable wiper motor.
Thanks.

| Nope, the optional variable speed wipers use rheostat resistors that are different to accommodate the voltage difference. Two speed wipers don't have this problem, they switch motor windings in and out.

Location: Michigan | I switched my Chrysler from 6 to 12 and I didn't change the switch itself. I only changed the physical motor in the mechanism. My two speeds work the same. |
