| I just picked up the car at auction. The previous owner has period 7.60 tires on it that are sadly dry rotting. It looks like the old 7.60's would be today's 225-75 tire. What are you guys running on your's? Is there any reason I should go to 235's?
Thanks!

Location: Buena Park, CA | '56 Custom Royals had either 6.70's or 7.10's. I'm currently running 6.70's on mine. |

Location: New Jersey | Craig--225's would be more than adequate for your CR. I'm presuming that it's the standard car with 5' rims. The radials at that size will give you a terrific ride and handling. I have a convertible with wider rims than yours and run Michelin 235's on it, which I would not recommend for you. That size would probably scrape against your inner fenders in the rear and cut your tires. The car will also feel 'wobbly' as if the tires were not beading properly. Go 225's and enjoy.--Fred |
