Location: Ontario, Canada | Interesting, Mike! I interpret body plate "427" as a 7 in a position that indicates the "ordering code" of 327 which factory decodes as a rear shelf speaker. Hey! If the car has a rear speaker we are both right!!
You did this on purpose, didn't you?!

Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Greg:
I would defer to you. You have studied these things a lot longer than I have. I based that 427 on another car with a similar number in the data plate. That car had the acoustic-foam headliner, but I did not know if it had the rear shelf speaker. The acoustic-foam headliner was so unusual on that other car, I assumed it would be on the data plate, but perhaps not!
How does the 7 under the 42 translate to an order code 327?
thanks,
Mike (always lots to learn)

Location: bishop, ca | The car is not coded for Accoustafoam headliner.
It does have a rear speaker.
It is not coded for having padded sun visors, either, which might (partially) explain why its current
visors are in such good condition(?)
Rear defogger is not individually option-listed on the P/T plate.

Greg
Sorry, I meant to say rear speaker.
On the topic of rear defogger, it would be coded on the body plate as 434 and as 394 on the broadcast sheet.

| Those visors looked original... Aren't those only in Regal lancers? I can't say if it had the headliner or not but there was a big piece of padding behind the sun visors.
You can see the big piece of solid "cardboard" hanging down.

Location: Ontario, Canada | Padded visors were standard on a Regal and optional on other models. I think what would make yours unique to a Regal is the copper vinyl. Any others I have seen had the same Mylar strips but were white/off-white vinyl.
Want to sell them?

| I will get a thread of the leftovers eventually that are usable... I am swamped right now with life... but you can have first dibs on them if I do sell them. |

Location: bishop, ca | Greg, if you are saying that the 15th spot is for padded visors, or for the padded dash, my 1958 records/files
indicate that there are at least two different options that do apply to that spot, and that they are considerably
different from designating a 'dashboard' option.
For the rear defogger, I have no records that indicate that it is included on the P/T plate.
Individually-available options, but they're not shown or included on the P/T plate.

Location: Ontario, Canada | Whoa----- Neil, I didn't say anything about coded padded visors!! at any space on the plate!
In this case, it is a Regal plate and since both padded visors and foam headliner are standard equipment, neither would be specifically coded on the plate.

| I didn't see anything about the rear defroster, whole interior is gutted though, not sure if I could tell if it had.
