YES; 57 Dodge 2-door sill plates; years ago, bought re-pop Dodge sill plates, but, they soon
lost their new-shiny appearance, and now look like they're dull, 30 year old pieces.....

...Not at all like the 'new' appearance of the ones, above.

Will these sill plates retain their bright-shiny appearance?

Impressive to see the high quality of the reproduced parts. I would say nicer than original and as would be a CAD Picture. Jan is a really a mechanical artist!
Unfortunately for him not a Salesman, for I never saw before and anywhere these new side moldings, would have purchased them and the sill plates long time ago.

Neil: if the sill plates are in Aluminium as original, they have to be anodized for keeping nice. If in stainless steel then just polish them from time to time.
But who knows?  Thanks Jan for the important support he offers with his parts to FWL-Car owners.  - SERGE -

PM successfully sent, on the 57-58 Dodge 2-dr sill plates' costs.

The sill plates that I bought, many years ago, were/are not very shiny, and do not look 'new'.

Jan, it's been WAY too long, now, to remember anything about the particulars of having bought the sill panels..
but, now, think that I bought them through Timo Tanskenen, via his L.A. availability.

Will the new door sills stay shiny-new looking ("chrome-like"), or will they become oxidized/dull looking, over some time
exposure?

Bare aluminum can be polished if it gets dull from exposure. This stuff is great for it http://www.nevrdull.com/

Hello Jan,

I see you make side moldings for 1959 Dodge. Do you make them for 4 doors?
I have a Custom Sierra station wagon.
Thanks.

Anyone know if the sills on the Dodge and Plymouth 2-doors are the same length as the Chrysler? My '56 Plymouth is not a restoration, but I badly need something nice to cover the carpet edge, so the decorative stamping is not important if I can make it fit.

Very impressive. This gives a whole new meaning to investment castings. 1.6 tons of steel is quite an investment! This looks like the rear valance for a '60-'61. Can you tell us what it is exactly?

Edit: Oh yes, I forgot that you were going to do a convertible header.

I recently received a new set of Jan's repro door sills for my '57 2-door DeSoto, and they are awesome!

Thank goodness for talented folks such as Jan. It would be impossible to find a decent set of door sills for my car if it were not for artists like Jan.

Despite attempts at polishing, my car's tired, old, original door sills stuck out like a sore thumb once my car's resto was finally done. They had to go, but I had no other choice except to keep them as replacements were not available...until Jan saved the day, that is. The new sills are like the icing on the cake.

Thanks for making the unobtainable, obtainable, Jan...and thanks to Mike too!

Are you interested in doing sill plates for the 55-56 Dodge? I have an original NOS in the box perfect Sill plate FOR A 56 Dodge 2 DOOR that could be used as the template.

Is this used on the '60 New Yorker or just the 300? I don't see it anywhere on my car, but my carpet is long gone.

Those are 300 only - of course they can be mounted in whatever FL, but it would be incorrect.

So the roof rails are available. They look like 1500$ a piece? Ouch but I know tooling is insane...

I am interested in purchasing 4 bases for the larger Edelbrock carbs when you have them available. Can I make a suggestion too? Could you paint the air cleaners a lighter shade of gold to match the proper color? Thanks Jan, you are a forwardlook hero!

I'm sure a lot of us have designed and made our own parts when good originals or reproduction parts aren't available, but don't have the means to manufacture them for others. Example, I recently modeled my 1960 Plymouth wagon gas tank strap in SolidWorks. It was laser cut and then I carefully bent it using the original as a guide. Is there a place in this forum where we can document and share drawings, CAD models, plans so others can reproduce these parts if they need them? If not, should we start one?

This is an EXCELLENT idea!

I'm slowly working on acquiring some new-generation manufacturing equipment like 3-D printers and laser cutters to start making stuff for other model builders. I might be willing to look into doing low-volume production or prototyping. There are a pretty large number of small metal and plastic shops in this area, and most of them could use some work, and I could help that along.

If nothing else, having the information clearing house would be an excellent idea and resource for everyone.

NICE WORK! I don't know if you take requests? One piece i would like too see repoped would be the 60-64 coupe
lower rear panel from back of door jamb to rocker to dog leg. (Underneath rear 1/4 window)Most every 60-64 CPD coupe I see is in need on this panel.
A patch that went from door jamb to just before dog leg.
Panel Looks to me to be the same to me on all coupe models
