| So I came across a rather stripped out and beaten up phoenix. I plan to land speed race the car in C/CPRO

Location: North Australia | That's cool, can't say I have seen pics of a 60 Dodge salt racer. I read C class is max of 6.1 litres engine displacement. Will you use a big block dodge engine?
I guess after the first few runs it will shake any loose rust out and make for easy rust repair
Good luck, and keep the info coming. By the way, the car looks like it is ready to go!

| Actually it's a polyhead 318 at the moment. I have some interesting ideas for engines. I'm kind of thinking one of the 331 poly blocks with hemi heads and a 360 crank. That would put the car near the edge of the displacement limit for the SCTA C engine class. I don't really have any plans for the car to be competative, as a chevy monza has the record set at well over 200mph. The phoenix just isn't slippery enough for that, but it'll be a riot anyway. It'll be a typical salt car. In other words, always changing and never finished. For the next few years at least I want to keep a polyhead in it and atleast get to where I can say I have thew world's fastest polyhead.
interesting enough though, back in 1961 a 1960 dart seneca held the production class record at bonneville.
