SOME YEARS MOPAR'S HAD THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON THE REAR WHEELS AND NOT THE DRIVE SHAFT?????

With the change to the aluminum case torqueflite, the e-brake system went internal to the rear wheel brakes in 1963. The '62 alum. case TF had the trams output ebrake for one last year only in '62. Everything prior was on the trans output at least back into the 1930s as I recall my '38 Dodge in high school was my first experience with one.

Only the full-sized cars (Chrysler/Dodge880) retained the trans-mounted parking brake in '62, all others had it in the rear. The '60 A-body (Valiant/Lancer) was the first year it moved to the rear.
