Most of all.....just think that someone took the time and car to store that thing for 60 years just so someone else could have it one day to keep an old Chrysler going.
Plus, if it bothers you that much, just look at it as a $20 lens with $3/year storage fees. You can't store a box of poo for $3/year.

| In this day and age finding NOS parts in this condition is just about over ,if you need it buy it while you can . |

Location: Parts Unknown | ... and in the scope of all things "wrong", I can think of an infinite list
of things more "wrong" than this. Let's start with child molesters ....
This is a tail light lens for a hobby car, right ?
Yeah, ... let's not get too overly dramatic over the small stuff.

Location: Arizona | If someone paid $10 for it 55 years ago, and storage was free, at a compound interest rate of 5.6% it would today be worth $200. So in a way he's selling it to you at cost assuming getting 5.6% interest is about what one could have gotten for the long term if you put the money in the bank. So it's really a bargain. |

| I'm tempted to buy it and build the rest of the car around it. |

See? $310 and I'd be 100% of the way done with tail light lenses.
Now to find the rest of the car. :-P |

Location: Michigan | First off, I was joking a bit. If you could get a repo its at 250 plus shipping from Sweden, but I never got mine. So yes it's a bargain really, but I have never seen a NOS one for sale on ebay. They usually go for less than 100. That's the first time I have seen one at that price.
BTW John, if you have one still in the box, I will give you 100 for it. It would give me two spares. |

I think you could "print" out the shape, but would you get the clarity in the lens?
My thoughts were you would buy that lens to re produce it as well (if there is enough of a market to support it)
Doc
Nothing wrong with making a profit on this stuff
If people were not able to make a profit on it, they would scrap it all and not bother with it, that equals no spares to fix anything
