| Steering column seems to be loose and shakes inside the outer column housing, you can hold it tight up against the inside of the outer housing but that's not really a fix. Is there a bearing or something that centers it within the outer housing or is this a bigger problem?

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | There is an upper column bearing part #1488462. I think that # covers all 1959 Chrysler products? They have NOS ones at Collectors Auto Parts for $60. That company is expensive so it may be available elsewhere cheaper?

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Be sure to check if the steering column is adjusted correctly - if the column is too far down, then you will have excessive freeplay even with a new bearing..... | |
