| I am Mike, I have been here almost 3 years now(I have a 58 plymouth, 58 Regal Lancer and a 57 Royal), I live in North East Ohio and I would like to offer a group buy for the group(i will be contacting the Christine folks also). I am working with a local company that has 50 years of experience(about 45 employees), quality is guaranteed. If you don't like it ill refund. Each Plymouth 2 dr ht strip is 50$ usd, 45$ for the shorter wagon/Dodge 2 dr ht versions unchromed flexible hard clear plastic. Ill place the order after 50 spots or 6-8 weeks(if we reach at least half full), prices will increase once this is over. Expected ship time is two months after I close the group buy and place the order. Factory repops, excellent quality, hard clear plastic, typical lengths and custom if you want, each piece will be slightly oversize(maybe a half inch on each end) Obviously I can ship overseas and will try to make that as painless as possible. If you have a local shop in EU, I can ship multiple orders to a single point. Just reply below with your name in the list. Reverse Chroming cost to be announced(expected 20$-30 range). If enough people I can do a "color" cream matched version. obviously it costs alot more to do another run(setup costs and color matching). I was told I can get a glow in the dark version for you Christine fans :). The chrome paint is flexible enough to not bend. I am checking on clear coating cost also. Deposits: depending upon response I may not do deposits. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=59388&posts=16&start=1 1. Soiouz (2 strips, reverse chromed, 2 dr ht plymouth) 2. Plymouth 4 door hdtp uses two strips, only shorter than two door hdtp So that would be 2 strips, unchromed(since they will be painted), 4 dr ht length(tbd) PS when i mean spots i mean "a set of strips". So we are at 10 of 50 spots filled already.

| mstrug - 2015-11-21 8:40 PM will they bend this tightly? Yep! I talked to the engineer and he said its just an adjustment to the mix. He had me bring in my overhead sheetmetal rails from both cars. I am going to double check on the chrome paint on the wagons/dodges. He said its flexible enough to bend.

| Still pending the trigger, I am close.
I talk to them early next week.
Reverse chroming is 20$ a set.
31 "sets" approximately now.
I will need to confirm lengths, like I said I will make them a inch longer as needed to handle slight size differences in car.
I will have them cut the 2dr ht lengths first. I will update the list and confirm.
I may still need to collect deposit also, really depends on how much I have made(setup costs and footage).

Has anyone used the ebay shipping? How is the cost for you overseas?
I simply spent the money to send to a local ebay shipping center? What was the cost for them to get the item to you?
I may move the overseas people to a ebay auctions if it saves you guys big money. |

Location: Germany | Mike, I never heard of ebay shipping centers. So I have no idea. Maybe someone else in Europe can tell something.
What I know is that boxes longer 50" get extremely expensive via airfreight, at least Germany -> USA.
So it would be good if the strips are bendable. If airfreight is too expensive I would recommend sending it to a container service. In that case, the sender has to send the box to an interim storage address. |

be carefull on those shipping center's, I sold a bike here in UK that was going out of country , ebay calculated the shipping and it was sent to there shipping centre, guy never received bike as shipping costs exceeded eBay calculations , they refunded buyer I got paid for bike and as far as I know it's still at there shipping centre?
Might be easier to package them in a large flat box and bend them in a arc, I do have a shipping address in Florida if easier and they would come into UK in container that could solve problems of anyone needing them in the UK,
Paul. |

Besides the two reverse chromed strips I requested for the '61 Fury 4-door hardtop, I would also like to purchase a set of reverse chromed strips for a '59 Fury 4-door hardtop. The '61 strips run side to side and the '59 strips run back to front.
Thanks,
Jim |

| Dunno, are yours the plastic ones? I though desotos had stainless?
Just found out I can change the "cut length" at will which is great. I was worried about paying another setup fee.
I am waiting to hear about some money coming in and this will fire up after that. I hope to get this kicked off in a month.
I want to double confirm the "bend". The person said "we cant roll these"... and I was like what? Engineer is confirming the amount of flex.
I want them pretty flexible as I don't want to imagine the price of shipping long tubes overseas.

Well, maybe the canuck dollar will regain some value against the USD in that delay, so no problem for me! |

| still pending, I think I can pull the trigger in 2 months(as long as money keeps coming in).
I really don't want to take deposits but it would make this go faster.
I am in talks with another guy to make the fiberboard with the perforation.
I should be able to make the ones with patterns. simply glue the paper and perforate it... |

| I will be doing this(within two months for sure now). I just wanted to make sure I covered the tooling cost and the antenna tooling cost. I will take deposits once I pay for the tooling.
This will affect priority on delivery. |

| okay, priorities, priorities...
In order to speed this up... I have been held back by other projects and I want to keep a buffer(stupid dual antenna molder has me hanging).
I will take deposits starting now. I cannot eat the paypal fees as I am probably going to lose a little bit on this anyways. So you can pay by check or if you paypal you must gift it.
Obviously I will have product afterwards to sell and then potentially maybe profit.
So contact me, first come, first serve. I am only accepting deposits on 2 door hard top Plymouth size reverse chromed and non chromed right now.
I will not accept any new orders. Only the people who replied above or contacted my through PM will get the group buy price.
50$ a strip + 20$ for reverse chroming+clear. add shipping of 15$ to start. The balance will be adjusted once they are ready to ship.
Total for a set, chromed is 135$, 115$ non chromed. I will determine 4 door ht, 2 door(4 ribs opposite direction) and wagon prices soon. I have to check lengths and setup fees on different sizing from the manufacturer. Should be 45$ as I stated before a rib, maybe 40$.
This will speed this up by 2-3 months.
Remember this is money back guaranteed. I have seen the quality this shop produced, its not cheap but the quality is top notch.
PM me your order, how you want to pay and I will send you deposit info. Once I hit 20 deposits I will write the check for the tooling to get started. |

Location: Germany | Yes, that´s right I did a bunch of strips 63" again after 2 years. $85/ea. There was demand here in Europe, that´s the reason.
They are bare grey plastic and can be painted, mirror chromed or chrome foiled by yourself. I do not offer them "tape chrome covered" like MM because the tape may come off when the long strips are bended to fit in the package for shipping. All you have to do is to use normal car wrapping chrome foil if you like it chromed, like I did, photo below.
I am not able to make the in transparent plastic. I contacted nearly 20 companies 2 years ago and they all said that setup costs to make the extruder tool is extraorbitant high. We´re not talking about some foot but many many yards of these strips to cover the setup costs.
Mike, if you manage to make them from transparent plastic, reverse chromed, for an effordable price, I´ll stop making them with no problem.
If there is interest in the plastic strips and/or the matching caps, feel free to contact me for more information, prices etc. |
